… "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
For those who need it today.
We are quickly getting mired in the process of trying to buy a house. Our timeline is VERY short, and my natural "need to know" which is the polite way of saying my anxiety is kicking into overdrive. This is my prayer when I feel the anxiety coming on. I can't help but then hear my mother's voice accusing me of pulling a "stunt" which is what she calls it when I screw something up.
Basically, I'm having trouble adulting today. Hugs for those of you who need one for whatever reason.

Thanks for the reminder. We are trying to sell our house and it's really the pits. It is frustrating because so much of it is out of our hands and we just have to wait and hope that everything falls into place.
I keep feeling like everything will work out and that I just need to let go... But dang. I am not good at that.

We've done all we can at this point, what we need is time. The one thing we don't have. That and a fantastic house in our price range with a gas stove.

Sitting on this bench too.
Health insurance dropped me because of their mistake and then took my payment at the very end of the enrollment period only to turn around and refund payment. They are supposed to be in the process of reviewing my multiple phone calls trying to figure out what had happened and how to be covered as required by federal law, and the only way they can legally reinstate me under federal law is to find that they made a mistake.
They have put it off this long, so the earliest I can get coverage is the 1st of April.
I need to know ASAP, because if they continue to deny me coverage, I will have to 1: Take it up with the state &/or 2: move to another state (which I plan on doing soon, but not this soon) before the middle of March so I can get coverage.
Or else I'm outta luck for the rest of the year.
Totally playing havoc with my anxiety.

I am not a Christian, but I do believe in God and I find this passage comforting. I am still waiting on an appeal from my insurance company on my medication increase and it's giving me major anxiety. I have to trust that the right thing will happen and I will be OK no matter the outcome.

MaryMary - you're selling Pemberley? I loved the photos of your decorating and rehabbing on your blog! Yeah, I never thought we were going to move, but it isn't in the school district we need. And thanks. With all the work you put into Pemberly, I would think you will have lots of interested buyers. An older home that has been updated to turnkey state like yours is highly sought after. Do you have another place purchased putting pressure on you to get Pemberly sold quickly? I am going to be listing my home within the next couple of years and I seriously think I will sell my place, put my stuff into storage, then go looking for something smaller that I can hopefully offer cash. I know that is a lot more work, but since I don't have children to get settled and enrolled in a new school, I should be able to stay in a cheap motel while I house hunt. My issue then will be boarding my cats until I can find a place, but it sounds less stressful to me than coordinating closing dates, especially when I want to move to another state.

This is one of my favorite verses. I read it to my son daily when he was in the hospital in liver failure. (He is fine today) It was very comforting to our family.
Everything always works out in the end, I will be thinking of you today.

Do we have the same mother? I hate that I am in my 40s and somehow her voice, sarcasm and little sayings are still stuck in my head. I work on it, I go to therapy and what I have learned is that I just need to leave to "shut off" those negative thoughts.
He's hoping everything works out well for you in this stressful time.

We have put a ton of work and money into this house, but unfortunately we aren't getting most of it back when we sell. We didn't make changes with the expectation of moving since I thought this would be our forever home. But, oh well.
We haven't purchased another house, but we do have one we are hoping to buy if the timing works out.
I wish that moving out to sell was an option because keeping this giant house Show Ready helped me stress eat myself about 15 pounds heavier so far. LOL

This was just what I needed to see today! I don't post much, but I read every day.
My husband lost his job on Tuesday. He is retired military and this was his first civilian job since retiring a year ago. My son is in the process of choosing a college and I would hate for this to be part of his decision. My stress level is through the roof and I'm trying to remain positive and calm, but it's not easy!!! I keep trying to remind myself that God must have bigger and better plans for us.

Hugs and prayers to all of you, and thank you OP for this verse. For me, it's nothing major like so many of you are facing, but a series of setbacks and worries that have started to pile up, enough to make me realize that I an giving in to some low level anxiety over things that I cannot change, and it is affecting my usually positive outlook on life. The what ifs are about to send me over the edge.
Philippians 4:13 says "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." I need to remember this daily!

With credit to From the Heart Art for the images. I have them framed side by side on my wall. DH was unemployed for all of 2012, and I prayed on this almost often when things got bad. Told myself I would buy the print when things got better and I did.
