I have kept a diary since I was 7-8. And it's hilarious to read my entries at 9-10-11 from November-April, because they are all doom and gloom. A running tally of days without sun (68 is the highest). Everything is SO BAD. And I'm 10 people...10. The PNW is just not for me! I moved away as soon as I could and while it will always be home, I couldn't live there.

We have a great climate here, people move here eastern wa BUT The wind. Can drive you insane. What part of Eastern WA? We are in Yakima county.
We moved here because of DH's work. We grew up in Skagit County in Western WA. When we go back, the greyness really gets to me. I do not think I could live there again. Even short doses affect me. Plus my hair doesn't dry without a lot of work.

My parents moved us to Florida when I was 15. I briefly moved to Long Island in my 20's. I was happy to move back to Florida. I live in a populated area. I love our beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I need the sun....for mood and Vit D for fibro. A few years ago, I flew up north to visit relatives. It was in October. I looked forward to gorgeous autumn colors and Indian Summer weather. The weather was cold, rainy and few leaves on the trees during my visit. The day I left there was frost on the ground. Once you're used to sunshine and mostly green all year around, the weather was depressing. My DH is a native Floridian. If our populated area becomes too much, we'll move to a less populated area. Don't be afraid to move. I encourage you to visit the desired residence for a while to make sure its what you really want to do.

I admit I get a little cagey by the end of March when winter drags on. But I can't ever imagine leaving Michigan and the seasons. This Michigander agrees wholeheartedly. We spent a few years in TX, FL, and NC, after growing up in Michigan. It just never felt right to me or DH. My first summer in TX, I remember wishing for a cloudy day.
