It sounds pretty bad, to me. Poor "other kids".

I was wondering if I'd know what you were (or weren't) talking about. But oh my obvious! Kinda second class citizen-ing those kids, eh? They didn't think that one through.

I don't think this is anything to be concerned about...I thought it was fun.

"pack up the prince and the princess and the other two kids from a previous marriage" Nice Second class citizens is right, as they are singing about loving the family road trip. I bet it was those other kids in the 3rd seats too.

Wow. Nothing like proving that some people consider step kids second class citizens.
What a gross commercial.

This is one of those times when I think the laudable desire to be more inclusive by showing different kinds of families gets totally botched by piss-poor execution.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it missed the mark. I am surprised that someone let that get by.

I was just talking to my son about this yesterday. I think it's a horrible commercial.

"pack up the prince and the princess and the other two kids from a previous marriage" I had to listen to that several times because I couldn't let myself believe I heard it right the first time. I have no words. WTH were they thinking? And how many people did that commercial have to go through before it aired? Did not one of those people see how offensive that is? I just don't get it - why even say that?

What the actual F*CK? That is disgusting. I guess the other kids should just be glad that they got to go along? Horrible.

Thank you!
I really thought it was bad, but it was one of those moments where I was thinking maybe I was the only one.
My people validated me.

It wasn't just you, TankTop . I WAS one of the 'kids from the first marriage' and my 'real' brother and I got treated horribly. That was decades ago and you'd think that times have changed, but I guess that with this company, they haven't. So sad.

Why? I just don't even get why someone would decide to go with those lyrics? And who heard them and said "Oh yeah! Those are great! Let's roll with that!".
Even if you step away from the poor "other kids" seeing and hearing this commercial, dang, that whole couplet just sounds like a kid's first attempt at writing a rhyming poem. You know, when they are so concerned with making things rhyme that they really don't care what they're saying. They just throw in lines that will rhyme at the end.

Nope! I'm with you on this...I'm one of those "other kids from a previous marriage." And I always felt like my mom and step-dad didn't want me around because I wasn't part of their family unit. This commercial brought up those same feelings.

I hate this commercial. The comparison is hurtful. I have no idea how this commercial got made.

Not a fan of the wording of the prince and princess either. I know a lot of parents describe their children using these words, but I never got it. I wonder if there is a story or backlash to the commercial. Glad they were more thoughtful of choosing the next door neighbors though.

When I first saw this commercial I thought the song was a little strange but I didn't think of it as offensive but I'm from the second marriage so maybe that's why. I have two stepsisters and a stepbrother I have never met. That commercial would be offensive to them I'm sure.
