It's got a screech just like one gets when a radio or TV signal gets knocked out and goes off air which really puts my teeth on edge on the rare times I hear it. I wouldn't like to have to put up with that noise every night, or anytime, and I guess the residents there feel the same so I hope they can solve the mystery soon!  |

It sounds like a rusted roof vent, one of those round things that spin when the winds hit it. Sounds metallic to me.

Sounds to me like some brat child has figured out a way to annoy his neighbors.  I am not sure what it is, but the cat that was sleeping on my lap hated it. He jumped up, made a pissed off meowing sounds and ran from the room like the devil himself was after him.  |

DH and I both thought it sounded like wind whistling through something. It would drive my crazy.

That's close to us, but thankfully we can't hear it. I think it's going to be something from sawmill that's not too far away and some crazy ass acoustic thing is happening.
Whatever it is, it's a terrible sound and I'd hate it if I had to live with it!
