I'm glad the 6 months went by fast and my sub is over. Sigh...it's 3 hours into presale and the ad ons are sold out. It's annoying! I guess if I felt like sitting to stare at the clock I could have gotten an add on but I didn't feel like it this time :/ I am definitely the type to mix everything up and buy buy buy anyway, I guess I will go back to my usual ways.

Funny thing is that I really like their kits but the stress if the add ons and selling out so fast has always held me back.

I've never subbed with them, but the add-ons selling or so fast has always been a typical on the boards. So, I guess that's par for the course with them. Wouldn't it mane more business sense to make at least 10% more or so available, just to make sure more of your regular customers get them? I really don't get it, but I'm with you, doesn't seen worth the hassle.

I cancelled my sub last month. My six months was up. I was not using all of the kit. I will save that money and use it to spread my scrapping dollars.

I just can't get myself to sub with them. I do love some of their stamps but I am not sitting by a computer, just waiting to click a button to buy something.

Heard similar comments from other gals so I was never interested in subbing.

I can understand the frustrations in trying to get the add-ons that you want every month, and not being able to because you were late to pre-sale. I love their kits enough to deal with the frenzy. I can buy regular scrapbook products anywhere, but I really like the exclusives that are included every month. As long as I am on for pre-sale right when it starts I have always gotten everything I wanted.
There are so many kit clubs out there that even if one doesn't fit your scrapping style or patience level (lol) there is usually another out there that will be perfect for you.

My 6 months are up with August too. I might resub if/when a really good deal comes along. I don't get crazy with the presale but if you aren't there at the stroke of 12, forget it. I did get an add-on today and actually did it from my phone. I was surprised it worked!

I have subbed with them off and on for a couple of years, I always hear about problems but have never experienced any myself. I almost always get the add-ons I want. Huh, maybe I should hope I have a problem so I stop giving them all of my money

seriously, I was pissed yesterday! I never make it in time for the presale but I was determined this time, when I logged on everything was already sold out! so frustrating bc there was an add on I really wanted

Every month, there are these kind of complaints about Studio Calico and the add-on kits, but personally I haven't had a problem; I have been a subscriber to Studio Calico for over a year and I have yet to miss out on an add-on I want, yes, I do always get there the minute they go on sale but I've never lost out by doing so. There are still some add-ons available, just not the one's people wanted (this month seemed to be Jet).

It's not just the insane pre-sale nonsense either. I don't understand the pervasive SC mentality about scarcity. I'd asked to be notified about their Brighton Beach line and I guess the notice came out while I was at work and stuff sold out in a heartbeat. There were a lot of frustrated people on the message board that day! At the same time, BlueMoon sent a notice that had the line in stock so I was able to go buy everything I wanted with no stress. You think SC would realize they could make more profit if they made more product available...

I just got an email from them offering the first month kit free if I sub to 12 months. No way! Especially not after hearing about their issues.
Hopefully they will listen to their customers dissatisfaction and try to help!

It is annoying and I could see they do it so there is a frenzy and people are quick to buy on impulse knowing if they don't, they will miss out. I think if they did where we knew exactly what was in the add-ons and we had time to think about the value in the kit, they wouldn't sell out nearly as fast.
I've only been a member since the beginning of this year and have only bought two add-ons because of the stamp but I do have to be careful not to let others excitement sway me to hit the buy button.

I subbed last year for 6 months but then was about to have brain surgery so the timing was just right to cancel as I also broke my left foot that same month. No scrapping happening then.
Honestly felt liberating to not be paranoid on presale days and getting those "oh so coveted kits".

I like their products, but I refuse to get dragged in to the chaos that is reveal. It seems like every single month there are threads on the forum complaining...really, it's the way they work, so if you don't like it your only option is to go somewhere else.

I think that's what puts me off - as well as the customer service issues I've heard about - the crazyness at reveal time and the competition for limited kits. That's how it was for several years at PTI where everything would sell out straight away and they had limited nos to keep people excited and make them buy frantically. Honestly it got so stressful I had to stop buying. Just stopped being fun and became a huge mission each month!

I've subbed with SC off and on in the past and never again will I go back. I usually had success getting what I wanted at reveal, but I got so tired of the stress of it all. Plus I can't support a kit club/company that treats its customers so poorly.

About two years ago, I had a scrapbook sub with SC and really liked the kits. I rarely got the add-ons because I was usually at school but except for a few darling add-ons, I was really okay with it. I loved just about everything they sent me and would not always "burn" through the kit on a month, but I did use most of the contents-I really like their style even though their CS infamously sucks...and they don't seem to care too much about that.
Then, the PL kit was offered and I didn't sub right away because they would t show a preview and I wasn't about to sub to something I hadn't seen. When the PL kit actually came out, it was so cute but there was a HUGE waiting list which I put my name on-this was January of last year. By March I was still on the waiting list which I thought was ridiculous on their part so I requested to be taken of the waiting list....I was told I would be charged $15 to get off the waiting list! I cancelled my sub immediately and wrote a nasty email and they decided to waive my $15 cancellation fee. I was really, really mad and swore I wouldn't buy another thing branded by SC.
Well....a few months went by and they had a promotion for the PL sub and I caved (yes, I know, I know). I really really have used these and when they offered a similar promotion for the scrapbook sub, I added it. This was about the time 2Peas was going downhill fast and we have no LSS's around here. It's been so nice to get new products and stuff that really is my style and that I use. I really do use my kits and I find myself trying new things/products that I never would on my own. I don't participate in the community too much but I haven't had any CS problems since I resubscribed.
Yes, the add-on hysteria gets ridiculous but I've learned if you log on about five minutes before presale and just keep refreshing, you have a better chance snagging what you want. I did this yesterday and got Jet which was sold within the first hour. I know they are frustrating but I've tried some other kit clubs and I always go back to SC. I totally get why so many people get fed up win the,but I'm willing to put up with them...I do feel like I get my money's worth.

Yup I heard all the stories prior to subbing. I still subbed because I love their style n their products. It helps that subber's presale is midnight my side of the world. Works great for me! Coz midnight means great internet speed, no appointments or work getting in the way, am a night owl ... I always arrive on the dot n always got what I wanted ... Only missed presale once n was upset that I fell asleep! ... but something better always comes along the following month ... So am good
Hope you find another kit club that matches your style and schedule.

Is it just me, or are their add-on kits extremely expensive? I subbed a while ago, and I've slowly watched the prices go up, and the contents stay the same or even decrease. I was floored to look at August's kits to see a $43 add-on. Seriously?

I am planning to start a sub with either SC or Gossamer Blue in 2015 so I can always have new product without spending a ton of money. I like the look of the SC add-ons but there is just not enough product to justify the price. I think the monthly kit would be enough product at the price point I want.

Aren't all kit clubs like this with their add-ons? I know Cocoa Daisy was. Still like their kits though.

The cost of the add-ons was one of the main reasons I stopped SC. I couldn't justify paying more for an add-on than the actual main kit. I just subbed to Gossamer Blue, so I'll see how that goes.

I could never sub with them. Their add-on buying starts at 10am my time, and I'm at work. I don't understand why they don't have a whole kit sort of option where you automatically get the extras. I guess that would go against their 'create a frenzy' marketing. Too bad, since I do like their products.

I cancelled my SC sub after almost a year in April. I liked the kits but was sick of the hassle trying to get what I wanted. Having reveal in the middle of the workday meant I rarely got what I wanted.
I also sub to Scraptastic and Freckled Fawn. I'm thinking of canceling FF also, but haven't yet. I really like it, but just being careful of my budget.
I love my Scraptastic kits though!!! No hassle to get the kit I want, I get a choice of 2 kits, and if for some reason I don't like the preview I can cancel my sub before the 20th of the month.
