With their business model, it would infuriate me to be a customer. I used to subscribe and subscribed in the reveal and hype and got many kits that I was not happy with, and have a bunch of stuff still in my stash that I cannot/willnot use. So glad I cancelled a couple years back.
Now there is a thread over there that is about grab bags....very limited quantity. I just don't get it....if people hate the business model, why are they still there? There are other kit clubs and also Manu websites that they can order from, so shop around. I did and love it. BTW, Love Webster's pages...can fill up my cart there easily.

I got the grab bag email too, you get it free if you extended your sub for 6 months. I wonder if they are getting worried with the close of so many stores maybe the 6 month sub extension helps determine stability?

I cancelled my SC sub after almost a year in April. I liked the kits but was sick of the hassle trying to get what I wanted. Having reveal in the middle of the workday meant I rarely got what I wanted. I also sub to Scraptastic and Freckled Fawn. I'm thinking of canceling FF also, but haven't yet. I really like it, but just being careful of my budget. I love my Scraptastic kits though!!! No hassle to get the kit I want, I get a choice of 2 kits, and if for some reason I don't like the preview I can cancel my sub before the 20th of the month. Would love to hear your thoughts on the FF sub as that's one I've been considering. Just not sure about the $$ though!

I've bought a few things here and there from SC, but I refuse to alter my personal schedule to be in the right place at the right time to make a purchase. Either you want my money or you don't. I will not fight for the "opportunity" to spend my money on your product. There are plenty of other places who graciously accept my order at my convenience

I subbed to SC SB kits way back in 2009-10. I stopped my sub because I just don't scrap enough to justify a monthly kit. I've been subbing to their PL kit which is more practical for me. I learned to not go crazy with the add-ons since I don't generally use them up. So the whole reveal thing doesn't bother me. I get my regular kit and don't have to do anything. I've not had any issues with their customer service over the years. I am thinking about stopping PL at the end of the year, so it will be interesting to see if I have any difficulty cancelling my sub.

Also thinking of taking the money I would spend on a SB sub and using it to make a road trip once every 6 weeks or so to my not-so-local LSS. I can pick what I want, make up my own kits, and help keep her in business. It's an hour and 15 min. away so the gas there and back is an issue, but I just love her store, she stocks the latest and greatest, hosts crops, has classes, and is one of the only stores left in NJ! I'm beginning to think that I can't justify shopping elsewhere! (She also has an online store and I could order and have it shipped, but touching and feeling the stuff is just so much better!)

I like the variety of embellishments that are included and they fit well with my style of scrapping and type do embellishments I like using. Wood veneers or cork pieces, letter stickers, bling or enamel shapes, washi acrylic shapes, shaped paperclips etc. I don't stamp very much so a couple of the stamps I didn't see myself using at all. But I was able to sell them on Facebook groups. They made up for the part of the kit price there and it seems like there are always people looking for just the stamps from the kit. When end I get the kit I will out pieces of it that coordinate with my Scraptastic kits and add them to it and the rest of the embellies are on a small bin on my desk. A lot of the pieces are nice finishing touches for a layout.

I have trouble understanding why companies purposely choose not to create more product (even just a little) when the demand is so strong. It seems like the only ones who really gain from that are the ones reselling the add-ons and kits for increased prices instead of keeping it for themselves. I would think SC would like to have those extra sales for themselves.

I am on the DT so this may not mean much but i LOVE the FF kit, I use it up every single month. I say even give it a go for one month, you get the kit for $5 cheaper and if you do not like it you pay $5 to cancel (I am sure that is the cost) so you don't loose out.

I subbed to SC for years and loved their kits, but I cancelled last year (maybe Oct?) and have not looked back. A couple times If a kit has jumped out at me I have bought it, I think maybe 2 kits.
I really love Citrus Twists kits, also what I love is the subbers get a chance to buy 4 days before the public, LOVE that Trina does that.

Is the majority of the issues with SC in relation to the addons or is it due to the quality of their product? If it's quality has it improved recently or gotten even worse?

I'm the odd one out...I like SC products and I don't mind the presale frenzy. It is what it is. I don't buy add ons very often, but when I do want one, I can normally get it either at pre-sale or at reveal.

I'm a new SC member and am still learning the ropes. Their "limited availability" is marketing genius. People will buy what they don't need or want because they want to have what other people can't get or because they're afraid they'll need it and not be able to get it. I got a bad taste in my mouth about this the first month. I only subscribed because they had a stamp/die set I knew I'd need and use a lot. Didn't get it because I had no idea about the frenzy. I wouldn't use that set now if someone paid me to! I still like their scrapbooking kits but don't even check out the add ons any more. I will made do or do without.
August will be my 4th Hip Kit Club kit. I love that it's a mix of products from several companies and I think it's a great value. Scraptastik (sp?) has tweaked my interest...

I just got an email from them offering the first month kit free if I sub to 12 months. No way! Especially not after hearing about their issues. Hopefully they will listen to their customers dissatisfaction and try to help! I didn't get the offer of the first month kit free- but I"m with you thanks RefuPeas--- for the heads up, I had considered getting into a scrap sub-- just try it out- but after the feedback on this one, will stop and consider longer before I jump in, and certainly not with this one.... We got the best support group out there! THANKS again!

I tried to do Citrus Twist on the 1st of the month and I think that may be what happened to me, I couldn't even find a place to sign up for the monthly kits? I thought I was crazy but my husband couldnt find it either! We thought the site glitched I signed up for Gossamer Blue instead and I am really excited to get it!!

While there have been minor issues with quality here and there, I think overall their quality is good. IMO the issue is annoyance at the lack of add-on availability and the frenzy.

I refused to buy into the SC hype myself. I'm currently subbed to Citrus Twist and am happy. I've also subscribed to Cocoa Daisy and Scrapbook Circle in the past and have also been happy with them. Cancelling my subscription has always been easy and straightforward and customer service is always good.

I've subbed with SC off and on in the past and never again will I go back. I usually had success getting what I wanted at reveal, but I got so tired of the stress of it all. Plus I can't support a kit club/company that treats its customers so poorly. When I first joined I spent a lot of money each month on add ons. Then just before my six months were up I was busy and missed pre-sale. Then I missed the next pre-sale and I haven't looked at another pre-sale since. It has been awesome. I don't need all that stress just to spend my money!!

Up until today I always had great service from Studio Calico. I have now been indoctrinated into the club of how can they care so little about their customers. On the other hand, now that they won't be receiving any money from me anymore I can check out the other great clubs everyone has talked about. I'm sure there's one out there that will be more than pleased to have a new customer.

I've been a subscriber twice in the past few years. I found that I just wasn't using my kits up fast enough. I have plenty of stash and I really needed to shop my stash. I think they have some unsavory business practices to boot. The cost of the add-ons were ridiculous and the amount of product in their main SB kits was dwindling.

I've been an SC subscriber since 2008 and only once have I not got the add-ons I wanted. I've had really great customer service with SC - there have been some occasional glitches and I think growing pains, but overall, I think they do a great job. I love the kit contents and great quality.
I know others don't like the hype and presale excitement, but I don't mind it and have only had problems with it once or twice in the 6+ years I've been subbing (technical problems from server overload.)

I have thought of joining Scraptastic Club but the add ons are pricey too.
I saw the August boy kit and liked some of the itema but not others. So I made my own kit. Actually cost less than if I had done the kit and add on. I was able to make 2 kits with lots more paper and embelishments.

I subscribe to SC and don't stress about presale. There is nothing I *need* that bad. Sometimes I'll get the add-on papers instead of a whole kit and call it good. I really like that they have a shop associated with the kits so I can get the goodies I used to get from Two Peas shipped with my kit.

I was seriously thinking about Goassamer Blue but I saw a video review about someone cancelling their sub because they couldn't access the Forum & Gallery - some technical issue which affects a number of customers. I tried to sign up at the weekend and had the same issue with the Forum It's a shame because I really like the kits but I do want to be able to access the community as well. Will see if they can find a solution to the issue before I check out some other places.

I wouldn't let that deter you. It's a really fabulous kit club with really great customer service. I sub to the PL kit right now but added some scrapbooking kit add ons this month. I got my entire order in 3 days. And I'm in love with everything!!!
