It does rain here. It rains less than Vancouver. It was sunny today and 7C. I still was outside with no jacket on. Even this morning with a hoodie to the gym. Cost of living is high. Worth it? Yes in spades!

Not quite the same thing but I've threatened to renounce my US citizenship if Trump is elected. Baring that, I might just start telling people I'm from Canada if asked. Most ask if I'm Canadian anyway (because Canadians don't like being asked if they are American but also because I don't have a regional accent).

LOL Can't be any worse. My DS swears he is applying for Canadian citizenship if Trump wins. (But he can't vote for y'all as he misses that by 20 something days. Poor kid. ) He May be moving there June 2017 right after graduation we'll know in November. Please remember that Canada has an immigration system and it is difficult to get a work permit as we have laws here as well as to how these work permits and other types of visas work.
Very interesting at how many Americans want to move to Canada and yet know very little about Canada. Our Constitution does not give you the right to own property (Thanks PET) and we have strict gun laws.
And yet Americans say that they live in the greatest Country in the world, yet the USA is rated below 20 in the list of countries which are the best to live in. Canada is in the top 4 of that list and I think that it is in 1st place this year.
aww jeez, buy a frickin' sense of humor, would ya?

Wha? Lots of foreigners own Canadian land! Frankly, as a native Floridian living in Central Florida, I think that I should-no deserve-to be given my 40 acres and a mule in Canada. I mean, half of my area of the state is owned by Canadians, so really, it would be more or less an even trade. Y'all get on that for me. I will only live for six months or less a year, so it shouldn't be all that hard to find me a place to live.

It may only entitle you to an acre on Baffin Island and you would have to share it with the black flies and Muskox.

as an Arizonan, I think I also deserve Canadian land (during the summer, thanx) due to the influx of Canadians here during the winter. I don't even WANT a whole 40 acres... just a few will do-- can I live in the middle of Butchart Gardens?? (but I wouldn't want all the tourists traipsing through... I definitely would put up a wall.)

Lots of empty places for you both for 6 months of the year when the snowbirds go south There is a house on my block. Snow will happen in October and May and in between. Daylight hours are between 9 am and 4 pm, lots of sunshine though. But it's better than Trump!

But I have it on good authority that there is a castle next door that draws in a bit of income that you might be able to take advantage of. I swear if I come north I will leave my grits at home. And I will only comment on the cold when it is actually cold. Like to other people, not just me.

nope... I wanna come to Canada when the Canadians are home (in the summer). Does anyone have a guest house?? No way am I coming north in the winter- that's why we left Chicago in the first place! lol!! (but then again- if I come to Canada in the summer, will I have to bring a snow shovel to kill the ginormous mosquitoes?? I've heard they can get pretty big...)
eta: I can't promise not to say it's cold if it's below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, but I'll try really, really hard...

As it is above the Arcti Circle, it's actually cold to everyone. Vancouver or Victoria would be a better fit but, given the cost of property, a straight exchange might only net you standing room.

I don't think anyone has stated the obvious. If Ted Cruz wins, we will have a Canadian running the country. I mean he was born there but unfortunately his mother is American. So it will be historic. A Canadian/American in the White House. He can pass on Canadian culture that Americans are clearly lacking. I fear that he may do the job 1/2 assed because he is not a full bred; he's a mongol! Please note the smilie-->> denotes that I am joking.

As is Bieber and Celine Dion. No pass backs.

I could throw in a promise to use my blinker, some used mouse ears and a lesson on how to make key lime pie. Will that help??

A little more affordable, a little more tepid climate, and you got all that Anne of Green Gables stuff going on. I can dig that.

Both of my parents were born in Canada. They moved to the states while pregnant with me. Since I was conceived in Canada, and all of my parents' relatives are still there (except one cousin that I don't like lives in Washington) shouldn't I get some sort of preferential treatment in moving to Canada? Technically, I was taken to the US without being consulted. Like kidnapping! Fetusnapping!
I know what a serviette is and can start using "eh" and "zed"!

Someone posted this on FB last night. I told DH, we're in!!!! Move to Canada if Trump wins!
I mean what's there not to love about Canada? The country that brought us hockey, poutine, Rush, Ice Road Truckers, Bryan Adams, hockey, Tim Horton's, Trailer Park Boys, Celine, hockey, Justin Beiber (well, okay, you can keep him).... There is one small drawback. I HATE cold. I've only been in snow once and that was last month on a business trip. Couldn't you all invade like a small, tiny island in the Caribbean or something? And then we can move there? KTHXBAI! Exactly. Isn't there someplace warm and tropical we can think of somewhere in the Caribbean?
