Looking for pros and cons? What you think? Do you use this? If yes, how do you like it?
I have PSE9 and 13 will be out in the fall which is about at my upgrade time. But now they have these monthly subscriptions. I qualify under the student/teacher umbrella and could get the complete for $20 a month for the first year. When they say complete is that their whole program list. I'm interested in PS, LR, and Premiere. But if all is included wouldn't mind a crack at illustrator.

I'm still on the fence.... I have CS5 at home and CS6 at work, and don't have a burning need to upgrade, but I think it's probably inevitable. I am due for a new computer in the next year or so, I'll probably wait until then. Sounds like a great deal at $20 a month. I thought there were 2 different suites available- one with PS, AI and InDesign, the other with LR and Premier. But I'm too lazy to go look it up. I'd be using the first one.

I'm not big on subscriptions. The $240 per year (first year only?) is a huge CON for me. Also there are a lot of programs included that I, personally, would not use.
The PRO is that your software is always up-to-date, your items are backed up and you can access your stuff from anywhere on any device.
For me it would be a No.

For me if would be a no because I only upgraded from PSE9 to 12 this year, don't see a need for 'new' software all the time, and am put off by the ongoing cost. @lisav I'm not sure that PSE is actually included in the creative cloud. I thought it was just PS?

I thought it was just PS? It is PS and not PSE, but I'm not oppose to learning PS. And typically don't see the need for 'new' software all the time either, I usually upgrade PSE every 4 years. pse5 to 9 and was due to upgrade this fall.

I just did a live on-line chat with a rep. PSE usually upgrade every October, so I asked if they had any information, they did not know of any software updates to PSE at this time. But they pushed their cloud services hard. And the complete does include PS, AI, LR, Premiere Pro, and other programs (which is $50 a month for individuals, $20 for teachers under the student/teacher for first year).
I should have asked what the teacher complete goes up to after the first year. For $50 a month it's not worth it to me, for $20 a month I think it's worth it.
Thanks for all of your help and answers.

So far I really like it. I am doing the $9.99 a month for PS and lightroom. When I get my new comp I will upgrade more. I don't like Elements,so I use regular PS. I haven't played with lightroom yet.

If I understand correctly, a subscription is the only way to get Adobe software anymore. Is that so?

I am not really interested in the subscription. In New Zealand it is still available as a standalone for AUS$186 (full version not upgrade). Thats about US$173. ETA with Iphoto and Aperture being discontinued, I've also debated Lightroom but am still not sure. I should also add that I think you only get the mobile use if you do the subscription.

The LR portion of the subscription is new for me. While I am on a learning curve,it doesn't seem too much different from other photo editing, storage software that is out there. I haven't added any presets yet,but have been considering whether I will use them.Usually by the time I figure things out and become comfortable with it, there is something new to try. I guess that is job security for a lot of people, though.I am thrilled with PS and surprised that I like it so much since I was also happy with PSE 11.It approaches some things differently and has a few more choices.I do like that my software is totally up-to-date.

Well, I have been thinking it over. I think I'm going for the subscription. I'm going to get the complete this year. But I'm hoping to get more settled and more unboxed before committing.
