I am so super frustrated. I have been a loyal Shutterfly customer for years, and one of the main selling points for me was that they print the file name and date on the back of each print. This helped me TREMENDOUSLY with organization in scrapbooking.
Somewhere between the order I just received and my last order a few months ago, Shutterfly stopped printing the date. They now print the filename and that it was printed at Shutterfly. I emailed customer service about the change, and they acted as if it's always been this way. Tough stuff.
I relied upon this feature to keep me organized, to accurately date my layouts. Now I have a couple hundred photos with no dates, and need to spend time digging through my files again to date them.
:-(
So if anyone knows of any printers who will print the filename and image date on the backs of prints, PLEASE tell me, I would love to know about them and give them a try!

Yes, I like that, too. None of the ones I use do it, either.

Can you add the date as part of the file name? I know you can do that in Lightroom for a whole batch of photos.

I add the date to all my photos (whole groups at one time, just in my computer's folders) and then anything additional I want to the file name. Costco prints file name on the back or there is an option to customise the back printing per order (not per photo). It would be nice if they would take the date from the photo's meta data automatically. The photos from my phone have the date and time as part of the file name although you have to look closely since there are no dashes or spaces. When I rename my photos they looking like this:
2016-02-22 Disneyland (1)
My computer automatically changes the number in parenthesis for subsequent photos when I rename a whole batch.
