I used to really like fireworks, but now I just find them kind of dull. I must be getting old!

Professional firework shows, I don't mind. Random Joe buying them from a roadside stand, or worse out of state - awful and dangerous. Fire risk, so many people get hurt, just dumb.
If you let your under-13 kids play with fireworks beyond poppers and snakes, you're an idiot. Sparklers are a *maybe* with close supervision and for older kids (8+).

I LOVE fireworks! However, I hate and despise the crowds and traffic to go see them. So I usually don't get to see them very often.

I love fireworks and trying to photograph them but the hassles of the traffic are so terrible now. It makes little sense to drive to the location a good 90-120 minutes early to find a parking spot, watch 20 minutes or so of fireworks, then take another 90 minutes to get home. (The drive in normal time would be about 15 minutes). Unfortunately I cannot see fireworks from my house so that isn't an option. Not sure if we'll be attending this year or not. Depends on my mood, the heat and the mosquitoes to see if I want to deal with the traffic.
Edited: Love professional fireworks

Like rxgirl, I hate personal fireworks. They scare the crap out of my 10 year old Border Collie (even though they are illegal here in town but people still shoot them off).

I love the shows, but the last few years we've stayed away because of the traffic and crowds. But, it was held in a one way in, one way out kind of place at the lake.

Love them, we go to the big bay boom every year, I was a bit disappointed two years ago when there was an error and they all went off at once and then dh told me to look at the bright side, at least now we know what that looks like! :-)

Ummm, NOPE!! It's a good thing I don't because the fog usually rolls in and you can't see them anyway.

I used to love them. I grew up on Ft. Sill and the 4th was a big deal with a huge, professional display. It was great! Now, not so much. I still like the professional displays, but the crowds annoy me. I think it's because people are just so rude anymore...I generally avoid anything where there is a crowd. We do buy personal fireworks and light them off at a cousin's house. But their (very rural) community are all in on the fun and are ok with the noise...the neighbors put all the livestock in the barn and pen up the doggies so the animals are secure and there is a curfew in the neighborhood and everyone is respectful of it. My kids only handle the snakes, pops and sparklers (my youngest is 11) we try to keep it as safe as possible.

Yes I love Firework shows.. year after year I look forward in finding that parking place, finding the perfect spot and wait 2 to 3 hours for the show to begin. I LOVE it.
We don't do much personal stuff, most everything where I live is banned and you CANNOT be caught with stuff either.. They are STRICT. Even sparklers. I don't like spending the money on them either.... BUT last year we went to a family reunion in Missouri over the 4th. We didn't go to a show, we had our own. Our cousins (who are typical country folk) have their own Firework place where they sell them. They get EVERYTHING you can think of. I am talking probably 1,000s of dollars. We did have an AWESOME time... but yeah, no money out of my pocket. My kids had SO much fun. It will be a 4th they won't ever forget and no one got any limbs blown off! (which yes the way they are I am quite surprised that at least one of them didn't have a digit or two missing..) We just watched while they did their thing!

Not the neighborhood ones that just make noise. My poor puppies get so traumatized.
The professional ones I like. I'm lucky enough to see some from my deck so I don't have to fight the crowds.

Typically, due to heat, crowds and traffic, we do not go anywhere for fireworks. When the kids were small we got some "minor" fireworks and lit them in the street...but it's been years since we've done that. However this year, we'll be at the beach in Tybee Island for the fireworks on the 3rd and I'm really excited to be able to sit (or even stand) on the beach to see some great fireworks. When they're done, we'll simply walk 100 yards back to the hotel. The only traffic we'll have to deal with is foot traffic.
Win-Win.

When we go to Disneyland, I still like to stay for the fireworks. There is a collective "ooh and ahhh" from the crowd all the way to the big finish and it makes you feel like a kid again.

We do not do fireworks, those in the neighborhood will set them off, my dogs will go nuts, and there is a 99% chance I will end up with a 180lb. Rottweiler in my lap. So not looking forward to the next week.

We have a show in our borough every 4th. We live a couple blocks away, but it is still so loud. 2 of our dogs hate the noise, so my husband and I load them into the car and drive 25 min away to a parking lot where there are not fireworks in the area. So I am dreading this day as usual.

professional fireworks, yes. The neighborhood kids and their drunk parents shooting them off and scaring the crap out of my pets and possibly burning down my house, no.

A family at church lost their house...and everything inside of it due to a house fire after July 4th fireworks a few years ago. They didn't even do fireworks...but a neighbor did. It was horrible.

I love all fireworks. I love this time of year. All the sport teams have their huge displays on the games closest to the 4th. We'll be going to the Rockies game. Then the next weekend will be the small town closest to my town show, then another small town , then another. There will be display until the middle of August and then in Sept the homecoming ones start. Not bad traffic as they are small towns.
I also love personal fireworkz. We follow local laws, but I would love to shoot off the ones from wyoming

I love all forms of fireworks!
Growing up my father put on a fireworks show that was pretty intense. He had been an artillery officer and I think that the annual fireworks show was his one time a year to use those old skills.

I love professional fireworks. My favorite was the year we went on a dinner cruise in the Potomac River and watched the fireworks fly over the Washington monument in D.C. from the deck of the ship. It was fun time had by our family and worth every penny that we spent on that cruise. We didn't have to fight the traffic going home afterwards either. That itself was a bonus.

I love to watch them! I hate to light any off myself. We go out to a friend's Uncle's house every year on a lake, on the 3rd and they do a really cool show off their boat dock. It's awesome because it's so up close and personal. They buy like 5k worth of fireworks and it's just like going to a big show. It's also very illegal, but in 13 years the cops have never stopped them.

I attend the shows. I'm only a fan of personal fireworks to a limit. I hate that people set them off for days before and after. My dog is terrified of fireworks. Reminds me that I should give her a doggie downer on the 4th.

I love that I can view a number of professionals shows from my bedroom & guest room windows as we overlook the valley. As for fireworks from a stand, it's been so long as they've been illegal here for the last couple of decades.

I LOVE fireworks! However, I hate and despise the crowds and traffic to go see them. So I usually don't get to see them very often. This is me too. Plus, I hate being hot so hanging around outside in the summer with crowds and traffic is a level of hell for me.

I like professional shows. I love when the crowd gets into it. We should go to one tomorrow night. I hope my daughter won't cry.
I don't usually like the ones my neighbors set off. Those scare my dogs.

I always liked them but the last several years that I attended our town's fireworks show were not much fun. So many idiots lighting them off all over the place and being dangerous. Guess I'm getting old... It's no longer an issue as my husband of two years has PTSD and doesn't do well with the blasts. We stay home and watch a movie on high volume or go out to our camp where we can't hear them.
