I see where the name came from. The outside is nice, but the inside.... wow! You may like this house. This was very close to my home growing up. We passed it whenever we went to the local park. Mushroom HouseI grew up not far from you (Geneva) and had never heard of this house until today.
Who knew!
I grew up in Fairport. Practically neighbors.

Do people not think of resale value when they are decorating their homes? You have to consider that everyone won't like living in a quarry!

The only normal room in the house is the laundry room! Makes me wonder if this was built by someone who owns/operates a stone business. That is a pretty exclusive style to have through the entire home.

when I saw the first picture, I was wondering what was so bad about that???
...then I started scrolling. OMG!!! Definitely a case of 'less is more' and wow, they did NOT follow that rule!!! I can't even imagine how much moneyit would cost to rip all of that OUT!!
eta: that mushroom house is 'interesting' too. At least that one looks like an art installation all the way through, so I can kind of see what they were going for. The Flintstone House just looks like a stone quarry threw up in the inside.

How about Jackie Gleason's old house? Holy time capsule, Batman! I grew up not too far from this area. That's a super cheap price for South Florida, BUT obviously the house needs major updating and the area outside of this neighborhood has gone down hill (pardon the pun). Some of the 70's elements are pretty cool, but some of them really have to go! House in Lauderhill

I think the mushroom house is pretty groovy. I could live there.
The stone house I would hate to clean.

Reminds me of the house of a family friend we had when I was growing up. The husband was a mason by trade and he used to use all the left over tiles from projects in their home. EVERY SINGLE ROOM HAD TILE. I remember specifically, their guest bathroom. It was multicolored tile. It was the "rainbow bathroom."

Yabba Dabba Doo! That house belongs in Bedrock, alright. It's like they belong to some weird cult that worships rocks.
