Hello all you lovely 2PeasRefugees people! As some of you might remember, recently we had a thread involving Instagram and following each other over there. You may also remember my Instagram was hacked and a rather unsavoury profile photo and links were added to my account. I retrieved my account only to have it hacked again. This time, whoever it was destroyed my account, completely deleted it. Instagram is no help and it cannot be undone. I did a little research and found out, it is insanely easy to hack Instagram accounts. So easy a child could do it. In fact, my 12 year old daughter informed me all of her friends knew about it.So please be careful what you post on Instagram, back up any photos you have there. i made the difficult decision to give up Instagram, at least for now. I am unsure as to whether the attacks were random or if I was a personal target. Either way, my account is no more and I felt i needed a positive solution. Once upon a time, it feels like a million years ago now, I had a blog. This was back in the era of Live Journal and before my eldest daughter was born. I decided that with this Instagram attack I still needed somewhere to post my scrappy stuff, so a blog it is. Now, I invite you to check out my new blog, if you like. It is definitely a work in progress, and I am not a master of these kinds of things. I only have a couple of posts up, but I do have a number of galleries to look at as well, if that strikes your fancy. And I would certainly appreciate a visit if you have time. Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart! You are all so lovely and your comments made my day. I am looking into how to create subscriptions for a square space blog as we speak since so many of you asked about that. I will post an update here later once that is complete.

Oh, sorry the Instagram didn't work out. I've been enjoying seeing the efforts of our fellow creative Refupeas. I'm glad there's still a spot where you're putting up your work. It's always lovely and fun!

It's always lovely and fun! thanks so much, that's a lovely thing to say. I think I was most upset because I had been using Instagram for YEARS...I had almost 500 pictures there. I felt like I did when I lost one of my scrap albums once by leaving it on the roof of my car...empty and sad. |

That happened to me about 2 months ago and it was a nightmare. I actually had to open a new account with a new email...it was ridiculous. Instagram has the WORST tech support/customer service ever!!

I am enjoying your new blog! I don't have a lot of photos of my childhood either. I did borrow my parent's single album and make copies. I haven't scrapped any yet.
A question - what punch did you use on today's layout for the wood grain scallop? I have been looking for a bigger scallop.

impearia, I very much like your new blog and have subscribed to it with Feedly - works really well IMHO. Quite agree about the Shimelle collection. I hadn't looked too closely at it until now, but like a few of the others around here, might just have to succumb. I've never been a fan of instagram and don't really use it, so I'm glad that you've chosen to blog instead!

Before you get too far with your lovely blog, you may want to get off of Squarespace and onto a self-hosted Wordpress.org blog. Unless you "build on your own real estate," your blog could disappear tomorrow as well I especially like to tell scrapbookers this because many of them put personal photos and stories on their blogs, like an online scrapbook, and all those memories can be lost which would be heartbreaking. |

What why? I know several people who use Squarespace and have for years and love it...I REALLY, REALLY did not want to use Wordpress it seemed far too complicated for my liking. Plus i already paid for my squarespace account which would make it a huge waste... |

My parents both live in the US and I have to see if someone has my baby book. I know i have seen one once upon a time... That is one of my most favourite punches but looking around it seems it has been discontinued...I found you one on Amazon though... EK Success scallop punchIt shows an embossed dot, but honestly it doesn't seem to work, unless you punch SUPER hard. I just use it as a scallop because i think it is the perfect size. elegantsufficiency Oh good to know! I am g lad it is working well with Feedly too, another good option. foucaultgirl i am glad you liked my tip! Now if we could all just get our hands on more Starshine everything would be hunky dory. |
