Could you please hook me up with an Amazon or other link to the magic item? I bought a chicken-flavored Nylabone for Lacey and she's like ... meh. As a matter of fact, I've never had a dog that liked them but I've seen many of you post that your dogs loved them, so I must be buying the wrong kind or something.
Thanks!

My dog didn't care for the Nylabone either. I ended up buying a deer antler for him and he does use that. He tends to find it and bring it on the bed with him at night to gnaw on before he falls asleep. The bonus for me is that it has no odor and it doesn't get mushy and goopy like a rawhide would. They are really hard, but he has been chewing away on it. I think one will probably last his lifespan.

Ours like the plain old nylabone. They like them fine, but I think they could take or leave them. We buy deer antlers too. They love those!

She does have an antler, but it's not chewed on that much either. She does love rawhide. I just thought a Nylabone might be better.
**GypsyGirl**, I might try one or both of those that you mentioned. I haven't given her any rubber/nylon toys that are flexible yet, maybe she would like one of those. If I could find something that squeaks along those lines, she'd probably be in heaven. She loves squeak toys with a passion. Unfortunately, all have succumbed to destruction.

You can soak the antler in stick for a bit to freshen it up. Or have you tried the Himalayan chews? My dog is 3 and finally out of chewing, but loves the Himalayan chews when I give them to him.

My dog loves bully sticks. They are kind of pricy, so she only gets one when I'm going to be away for hours. The 12 inch stick will last her at least a day, but she's a high strung dog.

But I let him chew for about 30 min at a time and then redirect to something else.

Just a bump. I remember there was a fairly recent thread about getting chews for puppies and several people were recommending Nylabones with links to some but of course I can't find that thread now. (Yes, I tried.)
I do appreciate the recommendations so far, thanks to those who have made them!

Our dog doesn't care about any chews that aren't food. She only likes squeaky toys. She does like Bully Sticks, but they're so expensive and they last her about 30 seconds so I don't buy them often. I used to buy her Merrick Texas Toothpicks but then some reviewers mentioned finding bones in them so I quit.

I saw one at Petco the other day that was like that. Doggyloot is currently featuring one with 19 squeakers!

This one: Big Chew BoneAnd, this one: Big Chew bone 2The 2nd one is the favorite. There are 2 of them going at present. We had to throw the one in the first link away, as it had seen better days. The second linked ones are newer. I'd brought the second out of reserve to replace the one I had to toss. Girlie was beyond 'an aggressive chewer.' She destroyed toys in minutes. It became a game to find something she couldn't/wouldn't destroy. Anyway, the Nylabones lasted best. Watch that chicken flavored one. We had one that splintered from the chewing. Straight out of the package. Cost us a vet visit. I noticed the second link was beef flavored. No idea about those. We always look for the original kind. The Galileo bones didn't hold up, at all. Too small.

Wow, thanks for that warning. I was going to try soaking it and the antler in some stock as recommended above, but might just do the antler now.

Thank you! I just put it in my shopping cart. Now, I hope she likes it! We have two dogs but three of those bones because it's inevitable that one winds up "missing" every now and then. God forbid one of them not have access to one.

Ours get a 6" Bully stick every morning. They love them and they are the perfect way to get them to settle down in the morning after they've recharged all night! We get ours auto delivered every two weeks from doggyloot dot com. They are cheapest that way and the dogs even recognize their delivery. We have been very happy ordering from doggyloot.

My dog didn't like the Nylabone. I used to give her rawhide but she started throwing up after chewing them (she lost interest in them and she didn't chew on them often). Now I give her a 12" bully stick. She goes through spurts chewing on that (chewing on one right now). Sometimes it will last a month and then other times just a few days.

My dogs go insane for these. But yes, they are pricey and even the "odor free" have an odor- but the non odor free can make you head for the hills! Ew. One of my dogs will chew her antlers and loves them and the other is not interested. Never tired nylabone.

Mine is afraid of squeaky toys and not interested in the nylabones either. She takes the bully sticks and buries them in the back yard. She's never chewed on anything she shouldn't. But, sometimes I think she should like a toy or something, but nope...nothing.

Mine is 5 and still had her nylabone til I cleaned up her toy box and threw it out. She would still chew on it all these years later. We figured she got lots of good use out of it for the 5 yrs so it was just time to let it go.
