So I've just noticed these shoes and love the look...the tan suede ones...until I saw the price! ? Are there places to get them cheaper, or a non name brand you've seen? Edited to add pic. .. ![](http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/03/01/633cc14e55d3c0a1b0971fa34c0a30bb.jpg)

We wore these when I was a kid in the 70's. I have no idea where to get them cheaper. But thanks for the memories. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

All the kids had to have these around here a few years ago. In MY day we called them "dope smokers."
I'm showing my age. Please tell me I'm not alone.

Dear god, no
I had those when I was four or five and I hated them and they still do nothing for me. The soles look like a walker should be included

Girrlll....I refuse to get old! The age at which I think "old" is gets higher and higher every year. The Peas will never age! We will just get seasoned! m

I've heard that if you wore something the first time it was in style, you're too old to do it when it comes back in style! I think they make an exception when item in question is a comfortable shoe! I've found my people... The knit body suits worn with hip hugger cords. Those qualify for the rule too! Wait, maybe they were worn with waffle stompers, post chukka.

I'm of the age to have loved Wallabees back in the day! I went looking around Zappos and discovered that they have re-released the famous Desert Boot also. These were popular at the same time, usually in suede like the Wallabees. I had a suede pair and they stretched out terribly, so I got a leather pair. I wore those shoes till they fell apart. Loved them. Soooo comfortable!

I was working in a shoe department in high school - in the 70s - and sold a pair to Larry Linville (Frank Burns on MASH) and his daughter (for her).
I had a few pairs myself - I think it is amusing that they are back in style again.

These were the "it" shoe for guys when I was in college. You just didn't go to an anti-war protest without them! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg)

My son bought some a few weeks back, they look like the picture, but are brown leather and so nice. He got them from Clarks and I was shocked at the price, but proud he picked out a nice pair of shoes. He usually only wears Vans or Nikes.
