We are still waiting on ours. I finally talked to someone at the IRS a few weeks ago. She said there was a hold on it, but couldn't find any information as to why. She went back through our return and didn't understand the hold. She said that there was no info on it and that they weren't requesting anything from us, so we would just have to wait.
It has been 7 weeks since it was accepted.

Anyone notice the weird mailing addresses this year? Our CPA pre-prints the envelopes & I thought he made a mistake and looked it up... Ours has to go all the way to CA (from OH) and there are separate addresses for those getting refunds and those paying even more. There's always been a separate address for refunds and paying more...at least filing from CO there has.

I finally filed today. This is the latest I've filed when we were actually getting a refund. The few years we owed, I would wait until April.

We spoke with our accountant yesterday. We owe a lot. It wasn't a surprise, just one more hit for us this year. Our bank account has been hemorrhaging for the past 9 months with no end in sight.
On the upside, dh is getting a refund on his state return.
I guess now I can adjust the Fafsa for ds. For all the good it will do...

We are but we haven't waited long.
We didn't think we would get much back. We have adjusted and adjusted.
But we are getting a refund and much larger than we imagined. Nice surprise it has been a $$$ year.

I haven't done my taxes yet. Maybe this weekend. I usually wait to do them. Since we don't have kids and never get extravagant refunds, it's not really anything to look forward to.

We filed 8 days ago and have received both Fed and State refunds as of today. I was surprised it was that fast. Of course, it went right back to them towards our first quarter estimates.

We are still waiting. We filed about a week ago. I just went to check my account as some of you saying you waited 8 days made me kinda hopeful. LOL

DH FINALLY did ours yesterday! Of course he realized afterward how much more expensive the program is to buy the longer you wait and said I should remind him to do it earlier. This was said tongue in cheek as I have been hounding him about it since Feb. At least he didn't wait until the day before like in some past years.

I finally called the state and they said they want me to submit w2 forms. They said they are asking some people for them and nothing to worry about. I faxed them in right away and called to verify they received them. They said yes but it takes 6-8 weeks to verify and get my refund. I have never had to submit w2 forms like this. Someone told me the state is trying to cut down on identity theft, but I don't know if that's true.

I talked to someone at the IRS again today. I was on the phone with her for 49 minutes. She said that our refund was red flagged because of our identity theft issue. I told we have never had identity theft and why wasn't I told that the other two times that I called them or why weren't we notified by mail. Of course, she didn't know. She said it was ID theft that didn't involve the IRS from 2012/2013. I have no idea what she is talking about. I checked and we have not had credit issues, so I don't know what's up. Our tax preparer is going to call tomorrow to see if she can get any more info than what I was given.
So frustrating, as I said before we really need it this year.

I'm annoyed that we have to wait 6-8 weeks, when it took them over a month to even tell us they wanted to see our w2s. I understand that identity theft is a huge problem. I know 2 people who filed taxes, only to find out that someone had already filed using their social security number. So I guess they are being extra cautious. It seems like they are doing it with random people though.

We are paying which my dh tries very hard not to do. He changes the withholding if he has to. He doesn't like to get refunds either. Personally I like a refund. It's a little windfall to me. So we are filing the 14th.

I really thought that we would have to pay a ton since daughter got a huge scholarship, but we are getting some back. I just did them today, to get daughter off my back about fafsa . That's why I did mine when I did. LOL Only in my case it was dh on my back about fafsa.
FYI: I got mine in just over a week.

We haven't filled yet, but we always owe. One of the joys of owning a business.

So we are filing the 14th. We always have the goal to not owe. Dh works in one state, and we live in another, so we usually get a small refund from one and use that money to pay back the other. We never seem to totally break even, but we usually get pretty close.
