We have had pork sausage and mash with onion gravy and are now following that with choc chip cookies and coffee for dessert.

Dh is hanging out with his buddy tonight so that means it's just me and the dd's ... I like to make something that he hates when this happens so we'll probably have macaroni and tomatoes ... sounds gross but it's actually quite good when you add a bit of Worstershire sauce to the tomatoes first

Tomato jam and mozzarella paninis with some kind of romaine side salad. They look good! Sounds so yummy. My mouth is watering because this is one of my favorite type of meals.

I love tomato jam. I made some with bacon and it was great but time consuming to make.

Just me tonight. I am having a bit of ground turkey, black beans, and corn mixed with a bit of taco seasoning on a tortilla with sour cream, cheese and onions.
Not totally exciting really, but definitely filling.

Take out.
I'm exhausted.
I had to deal with a very difficult situation at work today and now my brain is mush.

Because I know all of you have been losing sleep wondering when the 2016 Valentine's Day Dessert Standoff would end ... I am happy to report that it ended peacefully last night! (The cookie jar went empty a few days ago, but I held off refilling it until the dessert was gone too. ) The cookie jar now is filled with peanut butter oatmeal sandwich cookies and the cake keeper with a milk chocolate chunk & toffee bits brownie (baked in a round pan) covered with milk chocolate ganache. If anyone needs me I'll be at Trixie Bender's kitchen counter.

@neapan, wishing you a very Happy Anniversary. littlemama , I'm sorry that you have suffered a loss. tiffanytwisted , I, too am anxious to hear about your mac-n-cheese. Thank you for thinking of me and the well wishes. As for me, I'm suing the flu shot company. Despite having had the stupid flu shot I was diagnosed w/the flu. I want a do-over. So, I won't be cooking this weekend, but I'll be here rooting you all on from the sofa.

Spent a good part of the day at the Scrapbook Expo so we're having Chicken Tortilla Soup with a green salad and bread for DH & DS.

Cracked Out Chicken and Rice from Pinterest. www.plainchicken.com/2015/10/cracked-out-chicken-and-rice-bake.htmlThere is a stovetop version on her site that I use, the one above is the oven version. Cheesy, full of flavor, not very healthy and everyone loves it. I use a whole rotisserie chicken and double everything EXCEPT the ranch to feed this crew (one packet for doubling the rest of the recipe is almost too much still). The longest part is cooking the bacon and shredding the rotisserie.

Salmon and a slew of oven roasted veggies. Time to clean out the veggie drawer!

OK bc2ca & scrapmaven, the jury is back. The verdict is it was pretty good. To be fair, it was a crockpot version and I waited too long to start it so it was a little dry because I cooked it part of the time on high. It tasted good and was really easy, so while I'll keep looking, I'm not tossing this one. We've also decided that most mac & cheeses are really too rich to eat as a main course and are better as a side. This recipe was easy enough that I would make it as a side. Still looking for one we would eat as a main dish. It may not exist, lol.

Fishy Friday here too. Tonight was sautéed shrimp & grits, only the grits were cauliflower mashed (potatoes). Along with the usual green salad. It was yum, and there's a little left for tomorrow.

Mac and Cheese is just so rich that it's hard to eat a bigger portion unless it's my moms which is great cold for breakfast when you're in college. I make my mom's mac and cheese, but it will never be hers. I miss my mom's comfort food.
