In a moment of insanity this afternoon I decided that I hate how messy my in progress albums look on a small shelf under my desk. So now that I've pulled out the shelf I don't know what to do with my albums. I need to find a solution for both the albums that are in progress and the ones that are full. I have mostly 12x12 ring bound albums but also a handful of smaller ones as well.
How do you store your albums? Do you store your in progress albums separated from your completed/full ones?

Mine are in my (finished basement) studio right now, but I really should move them to the main floor of the house. If anything happened like a fire or something it would be so much easier to grab at least some of them if they were closer to the front door.

My finished albums are in a bookcase in the family room. The unfinished ones are in my scrapbook room.

My finished ones are in a bookcase in a spare room. I also have some empty albums there. The one I'm currently working on is in my craft room, along with some other spare albums.

At the moment they are in a low line cabinet by the front door. I used to have them in my scrapbook room but they take up too much prime storage space and they are very long so I had to put them in shelves that they would fit, not all bookcases are that deep.

My finished ones are in my family room on a large bookcase shelf my husband built for me.The ones I'm working on, I keep in my scrapbook room. Except for ongoing ones that I add a page or 2 per year. I keep those in the family room also.

The majority of my albums (completed - about 30) are in Rubbermaid totes in a deep closet. They hold mostly memories that I'm not ready to look at again.
All of my in progress albums are in my scraproom, on BH&G 8 unit storage cubes. I have 12x12 & 8.5x11" and they fit perfectly vertically (so that the album is standing upright) .

I have a wall to wall bookshelf but they look like crap on that shelf. My husband has so much of his stuff on the shelves and I can't even really get to them. I hate it. I wish I had something nice for them but I don't.
I have about 20 of them on another shelf at the top of the stairs. Those look fine there but they are 8.5x11. My 12x12's just don't sit properly on the shelf. Need to fix that.

Mine are in a 4x4 IKEA Expedit shelf in the lower level. I don't keep any on the bottom in case of water coming in. It's never happened, but just in case. I keep unused albums on the bottom.
The in progress albums are in my scrap area.

My completed chrono ones are in my living room. I have a 2 drawer console table and they all live on that lower shelf. My Disney ones are also in the living room, but in a corner on the floor, as are my PL ones. My vacation albums are on the floor in the living room at the end of the sofa. I swap them out for Christmas ones in December. This way, they're all readily available if anyone wants to look at them. Which rarely happens. The ones I am working on are in my scrappy space. Nothing like being anal, right?

I have these wooden cubes I got on clearance at Target about 10 years ago. I bought 4 (I was planning on building a desk and they were going to be the "legs).
I ended up attaching them together one on top of the other to make a tall shelf and they just happen to fit my 12 by 12 albums (I think 5 fit on each shelf).
Currently this bookcase/shelf thing is in my bedroom because I don't want them downstairs where grimy kid hands can wipe food on them (I have 4 kids) but eventually I want to put the shelf downstairs so people can actually see my albums. I have a 2 year old so it's going to be a while.

Completed albums are in the family room and in progress ones are in the art/scrap room. That might change when we move, not sure yet.
