How many board games do you have and where to you keep them?
I have about 5 in an upstairs dining room closet and probably 5 more in a basement cabinet. I just thought about it today and realized we haven't touched hardly any of them in the last 2 years. I think it's time to give them a new home.

Um, about 25 to 30. We culled the ones we don't play awhile ago, but there are still a few more that could go. When we remodeled the kitchen there was going to be an unused blind corner that would face my dining room, so I did that 70s kitchen thing and had a cabinet put in that faces the dining room. That is my game cupboard. It's one and only purpose from the moment it was installed was to hold our board games. As my kids get older and embrace the newer strategy games (like Catan and Ticket to Ride) I'm finding my 18" base cabinet is too small and we're going to have to find a second place for games.

Uhm..maybe about 50 We're board game geeks, and will never stop buying them. But we do play them as well, and that justifies the buying. We store most of them in shelves under the basement stairs. But if you don't play them I agree that they could be given a new home. Maybe you could keep one good one, in case you have company that enjoys games.

I am wondering what to do with mine. All of those family game afternoons - gone. Now I think that the games need to go too. Are any board games worth trying to sell?

I'm guessing we have 15-20 games and we keep them in a tv cabinet upstairs in our game room. I recently sent some to Goodwill because we didn't play them any more.

We built shelves in the garage. I can't even count. My dh and son play them all the time though, so I just moved them out of sight.

We have two shelving units of board games, science model kits, puzzles and card games. We keep it in the cellar.

Lol so many. We love games.
They are in an oversized rectangular basket with a hinged lid. Rule is something has to go if t doesn't all fit in the basket.

I'm guessing at least 35-40. We just renovated our attic and purchased a 9 cube shelf specifically for games...and still have about 6 sitting on top because they didn't all fit.

I think combined we have about 20 games. Some are duplicates, but I am not willing to get rid of my vintange Monopoly and Clue games when he has a modern version to play. I want Jenga and stuff like that, but that will come at a special time and a special purpose. I am considering getting rid of the Disney board games that I never played. Not sure.
If you haven't played them or don't want to play them, get rid of them. I'm sure you could make some good money with that.

We have lots, but we love board games. We keep them in our "linen" closet and store our linens in the rooms they are used in.

I tried three times in our garage sale to get rid of some of ours and no one would even look at them (they were not overpriced I don't think).. $3 to $5 for games that were probably $20 or more. I finally gave them to Goodwill. Anyways, I kept a lot of our basics, Monopoly, Life, Yahtzee... but all the others gone.

too many, I think, for as infrequently as we play them.
Storage? I have some on a shelf in my closet. Some in the drawers of an armoire in my dining room. Some in a pantry cabinet in the family room (dedicated to games) and 2 on top of that cabinet that don't fit anywhere else.

I'm guessing about 35-40 or so - we have all the versions of Trivial Pursuit and I still have the games that my son played with. The grands have about wore them out! We also have a boatload of jigsaw puzzles. When we remodeled the downstairs, we allowed for a storage closet in my husband's office with lights, shelves, and hanging space specifically for games, puzzles, and seasonal clothes. It's been a lifesafer!

Currently, none.
I used to have probably five or six (well, my kids did), but we just haven't played them in so long that they were donated.
I used to keep them in the linen closet.

We have lots, but we love board games. We keep them in our "linen" closet and store our linens in the rooms they are used in. Same here. Our upstairs linen closet is used for nothing but board game storage. We are lucky in that our bathrooms have good sized linen closets--especially the larger bathroom, that closet is huge so we can forfeit that space. Every once in a while I sort through and get rid of a few we don't ever play and I feel there's little chance we will. I'm kind of a game hoarder. Although we love to play them, I buy more than we play. I usually buy each kid one every Christmas and I usually ask for a game for myself. In addition, when I'm at Goodwill or Salvation Army, I always check their games too and sometimes will buy one. As far as selling them at yard sales, the reason why some of you might have trouble selling them is that first, people are nervous to buy them used. Board games have lots of pieces and I think over the course of playing them, it's not unusual for pieces to be lost. No one wants a board game with missing pieces. Second, probably has to do with the price. The used games I've bought were anywhere from fifty cents to maybe $2 at most. I paid $4 for one game at Goodwill (that's the highest I've ever went and that's only because it was brand new and still in its shrink wrap).

I had about 50 or so and put all but ten of them in a yard sale when I was purging for a move. Only sold one! I ended up giving them to the Goodwill and the DAV.

We have loads of games! We have this odd pass through closet that we have a shelving unit in and it is overflowing with games. Now that I have emptied some bookshelves of books I may have to move another unit in this space to fit the games in better.

omg, I am a board game hoarder.
Some haven't been played in years; others get played more often.
There are at least twenty on shelves in the corner of the computer room. There is also a alcove here in the computer room where I have shelves put in and they are stacked floor to ceiling.
The rest (probably about 40 or 50 more) are in the living room and dining room hidden behind closed doors in various pieces of furniture.

We have 11 or 12 and we keep them on the bottom shelf in a bookcase in my scraproom. We love games and I just put together a game bin for our RV with small games (cards, Uno, SkipBo, cribbage, Spoons, Left, Right, Center and Yahtzee).

Probably 15 plus card games. We keep then in what was probably meant to be the linen closet.

We currently have over 730 boardgames, without counting the expansions. We store them in our finished garage on multiple Ikea Expedit bookcases.

Well my DH and I own a game store, so -- LOTS!!!!
as far as selling them, if there is a store that sells board games near you (and not a toy store) you can try there - lots of game stores have used sections and will pay nicely for second hand games.

We've got about a dozen. I just bought two more yesterday. We enjoy them. Some, we've had for decades and some we've bought in the past two years. We keep them on the shelf of the hall closet.

I'm guessing we have 40-50. We have a storage area in our downstairs rec room where we keep most of them. The more popular ones are kept in a closet near the kitchen but we try to rotate them every couple of months. We all love playing board games.

We have maybe 4 or 5. We used to have a few more when the kids were little. My older son was never much of a board game person but my younger son liked them. He is now 22 but he and his 3 best friends like to play Monopoly, Clue, Risk and Apples to Apples when they are over. They probably play some different ones at his friends' houses.
When I was growing up and had family gatherings, we always played cards.
