ETA: nevermind I was making this way more complicated than it needed to be. Shutterfly has a feature for it. I feel like a dunce now. Thanks for helping me, Michelle and Voltagain.
Yes, I know it's an old version, but since I don't take a lot of photos or do a lot of editing, I've never seen the need to update it.
Anyway, I have some photos I need to change from landscape to portrait orientation. I googled how to do this and found a few videos, the best being this one: link to you tube
However, I am having a few issues while trying to edit my photos using this advice. I realize he is probably using the "real" photoshop and not elements, but still I would hope elements would have what it takes to do this. Am I right?
So, as I go to follow his instructions the first thing is I don't have an option to "edit with lightroom adjustments". Does this matter?
Next, I do not have an option for "content aware scale", but I do have something that is simply "scale". Does this mean that the "scale" in PSE9 is not content-aware, meaning it is going to distort my pixels as I move it? Because this seems to be the case when I have tried it. Also, as I am doing this and doing it in multiple passes, it is not "transforming" as it does in the video. I also have no idea how I am supposed to know I have a 3:2 aspect ratio.
I did manage to get something that looked decent enough, but then I was totally unable to find the "trim" feature. I tried "cropping" but not sure if that is going to mess up thing when I go to enlarge it. (2 of the photos I am doing are going to be 10X13 or 11X14).
Anyway, is this basically because I can't do what I need to do in PSE, or is it just I'm being stupid and unable to figure out the differences?
Thanks so much for any and all help.
