I have found too many embellishments at the bottom of the page protector in years past to skimp on adhesives now.
My scrappy confession of the day: I use both Scotch double sided tape and a drop of Scotch liquid glue to adhere most embellishments.
I also don't trust the adhesive on embellishments made of velvet, chipboard, even off-brand enamel dots and use a drop of Scotch liquid glue on those too.
Do you do anything strange in your layout creating process?

Mine have held up ok for the most part. I usually just add extra adhesive to Thickers. For wood and heavy embellishments, glue dots seem to do the trick.

I'm a big fan of glue dots as well, especially for more dimensional embellishments.

I don't use very many stickers or premade embellishments. (I've BOUGHT a lot, but I never seem to USE them, LOL.) A lot of my layouts have homemade titles and paper piecings that I assembled with Tombow Mono Multi (green top) and NOTHING has fallen apart in almost 20 years. The other adhesive I've used a lot is the Herma tabs (now sold by EK Success) and they seem to hold really well too. One thing I've noticed is that Herma tabs do NOT like to stick to the front of textured paper. I have had to go back and stick them back on with the Tombow glue and then they stay.

I love Dimensional Magic to adhere things like chipboard alphas which have notoriously non-sticky adhesive. They're about the only thing I double adhere though.

I use ATG very liberally. I also use scotch glue on thickers and other embellishments. I used to skimp to save money but now realize it was a bad idea. I don't want to be fixing layouts later on.

I am a crazy adhesive user. If it needs a strip or a dot, I add 10......and even though I know I have enough, I will add just a bit more.....

I use herma dotto removeable for almost everything from ribbon to chipboard. If it won't do the trick I pull out the glue dots which I also love. But I am a minimalist when it comes to adhesive. I want to be able to remove things and move them around if I want. An example would be putting together a memory board for a funeral - I like to be able to pull photos out and put them back in.
My quirky thing that I do mix patterns that don't obviously go together or coordinate. I am a make it work scrapper and I have been known to piece papers together that have no business being together. I mean it is done purposefully because I like the end result, but I rarely would purchase a collection of coordinating papers because I just mix and match anyway.

I use far more adhesive than is necessary too. I go through ATG tape like crazy! And it seems like I'm forever ordering those little bottles of Ranger Multi Medium!

What I love about ATG is the flexibility it maintains...it doesn't get brittle with time. If I glue a rigid piece of acrylic to a LO, it can be torn off because the glue is rigid and the piece is rigid. With ATG, it maintains that bit of "spring" that means it's less likely to be pulled off IYKWIM And streetscrapper: check out the matte mediums at Currys Art (there are 3 locations in Toronto!) - I buy the larger bottle and refill my applicator bottle. Cheaper (and local!). Check out this blog post about it: GEL MEDIUM AS ADHESIVE. I have the golden matte medium (it's a polymer) but I may try the matte gel medium next time as this is what Ranger is. For ~$14 cdn for an 8 oz bottle, it's less than 1/2 price compared to the small bottles of the Ranger stuff

I use a lot of glue too. I use a smaller gun than the ATG, the Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro for putting my layers together. Sometimes Sook Wang Scoretape.
For metal embellishments or others that seem a little heavy (even the ones that are adhesive backed), I use a dot of Glossy Accents.
I am always finding detached letter stickers at the bottom of my page protectors (or on the bottom of my FEET, if they end up on the floor), or sometimes stuck to a part of the page they are NOT needed! What's with that? Do stickers have another Toy-Story-like life when I walk out of the room? Am I wrong in thinking stickers were made to STICK???

What do you use to adhere metal embellishments to paper? Those are the only ones I've noticed that are falling off.

For metal embellishments I almost always use Glossy Accents liquid glue from Ranger. I have never had a problem, ever. Glue dots are good too and I've used those a few times when I didn't have my liquid.
