My teenage sons are home for the next week, and all they can do is fight and argue.

I bought a bouquet of gerber daisies and put them in a vase. And now my mother in law is telling me I need to put the flowers in a different vase in a different part of the house. And she brought me new bath mats because mine aren't good enough, apparently. She leaves tomorrow and she will probably leave a check because she thinks we don't make enough money. Sigh.

I'm almost 40. I drink plenty of water. I quit drinking the one Coke a day habit a few weeks ago. Why in the hell am I still getting zits?! And why haven't I lost any weight? I'm not eating junk food. I've increased my activity level. I quit pop. I don't have stress. I get about 7-8 hours of sleep a night.
I've been thinking why quit the coke if it's not going affect my weight?

padresfan619 no one on earth could drive me as crazy as my MIL. When I knew she was coming to visit, I turned into a not so nice person. She really only came to see her son and that was it. I encouraged my husband to go see her without me since that was what she wanted and she loved it.

she will probably leave a check because she thinks we don't make enough money. Spend it on booze At a family function last night, my SIL spent 20 minutes trying to convince me and my 16 year old ds that he should be a city bus driver in a few years because they make $27/hr. Except, he's really good at math and wants to attend post secondary school in an engineering field. He also has ADHD, so sitting for 40hrs/week for 35 years would be kinda absurd. BTW she is a city bus driver and has previously told us how much she hates her job. She also has 2 sons in their 20s who have lower paying jobs. Maybe she should talk to them first? Strange woman.

Not being able to lose weight, and acne are symptoms, as well as a bunch of others.

It was so uncomfortable. Finally I just said I was out and left the area. No way could I have dealt with being left alone for more than five minutes. In the 33 years I knew her, I would say we talked five minutes. It was weird.

Dear Lady, When introducing yourself to the new girl at church (me), don't joke to the associate pastor (or to your friend's husband sitting next to you) that you thought I was their next wife.
Not funny. Not welcoming. At all.

I vented some stuff on the other vent thread from a couple days ago. But more stuff has been added. I am 38 weeks pregnant, my due date is Easter Sunday. Thankfully we got through dd's birthday party on Saturday, but her actual birthday is the 23rd, she'll be 5. We also have a 3 year old ds.
I know that we are very lucky, dh has very generous paternity leave. But he is driving me nuts. He has a bunch of stuff that he feels like he needs to get done before the baby comes. Stuff that he has known about for at least a month, if not longer. But he decided to take dd to colorado to go skiing for four days a couple weekends ago. He spent last Mon-Wed skiing with work. And now is stressing and has been held up in the home office all day working. He came up to eat and informed me that he has a meeting tomorrow night, dinners Tuesday and Wednesday night. Wednesday night is the one night a month that is supposed to be mine - I have bookclub, my one non-child thing a month. I told him it was fine, but that I'm getting a sitter because I am going to book club, I read the book, I am the designated dessert bringer and I don't know if I am going to be able to go the next couple months.
I have been trying for months to get him to help me with moving the kids rooms around in anticipation of the baby coming. He decided a week or so ago that we should finally do it. I am on restrictions from lifting too much and he knows this. But I can't get him to finish doing it.
I just hope this baby stays in at least another week. I need to finish getting dd's birthday stuff and easter together and whatever else I can manage.
At least we got the car we have been trying to get for the last couple weeks we finally took delivery on Friday. But while we were there we learned that the other car that we have on order with them - that we weren't supposed to get till end of 3rd quarter/early 4th quarter of this year may be here in 2 weeks. So now instead of having 6 months to figure out payment we have 2 weeks. On a very expensive car and dh's stock sale window just closed and doesn't reopen till April. We talked to them and reminded them that we have a baby coming so we might have to push back delivery on the car a week or two, which thankfully they were okay with. But seriously how do you tell someone as recently as a week ago that their car won't be ready till Sept/Oct and then just kidding it will be ready in 2 weeks??!?!

No because I am not overweight, my periods are regular with no problems attached, and do not have any other symptoms. I just want to lose 5-10 pounds so I'm not overly worried about it. Just annoyed. You hear how others give up their pop/soda habit and lose 5 pounds practically overnight. I give it up and I lost maybe a pound. I probably just need to increase the walks and cut out the beer.

I called my family to cancel meeting up for breakfast (it was for my mother's birthday). I had a very good reason. I was in a car accident on the way to the breakfast!!! My BF and I were rear ended at a stop light. Do they listen and actually cancel? Nope, instead they say, "We'll just wait for you at your house". Um, I have no idea when I will get home, the cops haven't even shown up yet. "No big deal, we'll wait". Really?!

Why has it taken almost three weeks to get my friends body back to Canada? We are in limbo trying to plan a funeral but not knowing when the body will arrive. The last report is that she will leave BeunosAires on tuesday but that is not confirmed. That means she will arrive exactly three weeks after her passing. Her husband and family are really struggling. Just bring her home!!!!

Thanksgiving weekend I started with the replacement of my bathtub. Not the whole bathroom mind you, just the tub. The old all-in-one piece just wasn't comfortable enough to take a bath in. That's all I wanted, was to take a bath.
Between one thing and another ("contractors" that didn't do things right), I'm still waiting to take a bath. My friend who very reluctantly has been helping me, failed to show to finish before he went away for a few days. My niece is coming Tuesday to stay for a while, and I still don't have my tub functional. There are two bathrooms, and I'll just have to shower in "hers", but this was a deadline we were supposed to have made. I'm so pissed.
(men suck)

Dear MIL just because you "have space" doesn't mean you need to fill a 6 bedroom house with extra crap that you might need some day. Newsflash you won't need it - like ever.
