Does anyone know how they compare?
I love my neocolors and use them a lot, and have a class to teach in a few months using Tim Holtz products. Dont really want to buy the crayons of his unless they are super special.
Thank

I have never used either one. I think the TH ones react with water like the rest of his distress line, but have never tried them. HERE is a demo he did at CHA in January. From the description of how they go on a page and react with water and smudge, I was thinking they might be like Faber Castell "Gelatos", but as I haven't tried any, I don't know.

I was wondering how they compared to gelatos. They sound kind of the same. The owner of the LSS loves them.

I don't have neocolors, but I assumed they are like gelatos, too. Still don't have mine yet. My preorder is waiting on TH mini stencils. Any day now...

I was wondering the same thing. I have both Gelatos and Neocolor II. Do I really also need the Distress Crayons?!

Another good source: Sandy Allnock has done a whole bunch of experiments comparing Distress Crayons, Prima oil pastels and Gelatos. The video is about 13 minutes and she knows her stuff.
Her blog is sandyallnock.com and the post is one of 3 at the very top today.
ETA: linking bombed, apologies

Sandy Allnock's comparison video is the best one so far that I have watched.

Thanks. Gelatos and neocolors are very different. The neocolors are crayons which react with water....like the tim h ones I am guessing, the gelatos are more like the texture of lipstick....you cannot draw with them dirrectly like you would a crayon
