Sounds like the Midwest! We are just supposed to get the rain - snow mix, not much acumination. North is supposed to get hit.

The crazy swings of Colorado weather - gotta love it. How much snow are they predicting for your area freecharlie? Last night they were saying the storm wasn't going to be as strong in your area but the local news kinda blew the forecast for Denver too. It has ot be one of the hardest jobs predicting weather here. Thye did say this morning that it snuck up on them. All schools are closed here, not that I have any schoolage kids. All the inhabitants of my house, just by luck, happen to have the day off. It is goign to feel very crowded here today. I don't need to go out to shovel - yet. Because of the past few days of warm weather, the snow is not sticking to the sidewalks but it is covering the streets. The snow has not stopped the squirrels from mooching at the back door haha. They want their breakfast.

How funny...I don't think that it even got to 74 here yesterday. It has been cold for the last couple of days here in Central Florida. Last week the a/c was on because it was in the 87-89 range and today it is supposed to be around 83. But funny to think that it was probably cooler here than Colorado. (And, at 74? My flip flops were back in their cubby and socks and fuzzy slippers were put back on. )

I spent my birthday in the water of Discovery Cove in the low 60's. It was so freaking cold! My fingers and lips were tinted purple and I needed to keep going to the locker room to take hot showers to regain feeling in my limbs LOL. At that same point, Colorado was breaking records and hit 105 degrees for the next two days. It isn't often that we are warmer than your state.....

Yesterday my son was hiking wearing a tank top and got sunburned and now I'm looking out at a wintry scene. Crazy!

Thankfully we are on Spring Break so only our BASE programs closed otherwise I think we would be making up a snow day. The wind is the worst part. We are scheduled to get 10 in (yeah right) but there isn't a lot on the ground right now. Most of it is frozen in place and the wind, boy those gusts!!

We had the same problem in Utah yesterday! It has been so nice I have been wearing my favorite outfit...cardigans and flip flops. Yesterday I took my kids to an early morning activity at school in my flip flops and by the time I left the school 45 minutes later, there was a legit inch of snow on the ground. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person!

We had half power for most of the day and then it went out for about 3 hours. My mom was without from 6 am to 8pm, my friend one town over lost it at 5 am and it is still out.

We live just south of Denver and got about 17 inches. My daughter's on spring break. I swear, we have snow around Easter more often than not. I don't have to go out anywhere, so it doesn't bother me, and I love snow. I'm from NH, I'm used to long winters.

Hubby put the plow away for the spring last week. Now...it's snowing to beat the band and they're calling for 12" by this afternoon. Oh joy.

I love these threads! Over here in SA we have had the repeated-heatwave-warnings summer in hell from November until now. We are also under water restrictions due to drought. Traditionally the Easter break is the turning point and we expect autumn conditions round about then. For 10 days or so we have had great days, not too hot, and cool evenings. Big hooray.... however, the forecast I saw yesterday was for snow on the mountains this weekend, which means we might need a fire in the evening- in march!!

Brrrr. sorry that you lost power. There were so many without power yesterday and some are still without this morning just like your friend. I know someone who was without for over 9 hours and she lives less than 3 miles from me. Was your friend able to make it somewhere that had power AND heat? That totally sucks. I know the roads were/are a mess but a little clearer now, just icy. This storm was crazy! I hear rumbles of more snow Saturday. Did schools get cancelled again for you? When I went to bed last night I saw that Denver was on a one hour delay but when I got up a few hours later I saw that they canceled for the day after all.

DD lives in Parker. Got 20.2 inches of snow in 10 hrs. Crazy pictures she sent me. They are on "Spring" break this week. I have to laugh at that since I live in the south.

I've never been, but my boys went to some concert or another with their dad while on vacation one year and the brought home a couple of photos for me. It looks absolutely gorgeous. I get tunnel vision sometimes because I love the beach SO much that I forget about other places that have their own beauty. It is good to be reminded.

I just saw in my news alert that Easter service at Red Rocks has been cancelled. I heard that earlier also. I thought it was a bit of a knee jerk reaction based on how fast the snow melted today. I have spots that were a foot and half deep in snow this morning and we are back to bare grass by this afternoon. I wonder how Red Rocks is looking today. Now..... if we get a sizable amount of snow Saturday that might be different but I have yet to hear any predictions - probably because they blew this storm big time.

I think they are looking for more in the Morrison area. Plus I think they wanted to give people time to find alternatives
