I was going to offer the cliff notes: "I am going to do something x-rated to you". "Oh please". There. I just spoiled the book!

I live in a tiny little town, we have seven charity shops, there are always at least two sets of the trilogy in each one!

The thing that really fascinates me is that so many donations of this book have found their way to one charity shop in Swansea, South Wales.....there must be hundreds of books in that pile! It's a lovely city but isn't a huge one - it has somewhere around 230,000 population! The mind boggles!!

Great, now that you spoiled it, I guess I don't have to finish the 3rd book! Maybe I can have a visit from Christian instead, you know just to talk over coffee or something He's pretty cute!

I read the first one because everyone was reading it. It was pretty bad so I skipped a lot of the middle and went to the end. I never knew there were two more. lol

That is hilarious! Coming from someone who owns (and liked) all three, I would bet most of those were purchased online. A lot of people I know would rather borrow a book from the library than buy it since they're probably not going to read it again. Because 50 Shades was so looked down upon or was considered 'mommy porn' or whatever, no one wanted to be seen taking them out of the library, so I'm guessing they bought them 'in secret', lol. It's kind of funny that so many people dislike it, but look how many went out and bought the damn things!

I was something like 190 on the waiting list for it too. lol -- They did have a lot of copies though so it went pretty fast.

All those secretly buying the book couldn't risk being seen donating it to their local charity shop, so made furtive trips to Swansea. I'm picturing women dressed in trench coats & sunglasses slinking past the donation box and quickly slipping in their brown paper covered donations .

It would be hilarious just to see the look on their faces when I ask if they have a copy. Damn, now I need to go look. edit: Well damn! the smaller library has it in stock.
