Well shoot. This has never been an issue for me but the last couple of days I have dark circles under my eyes. I don't think I'm that much more tired than normal but maybe something else causes it? I'm 44 if that matters. Whatever- I just need to fix and camouflage it. So help me out please, ladies- I am make up challenged. I normally wear a light foundation mixed with moistureizer to even out my skin tone but it does nothing to hide the dark circles. Thank you!!!

I'm a similar age and have been troubled by that recently. I started using an eye cream twice a day and I feel like it's really helped. (L'Oreal Age Perfect eye cream from supermarket).

If they are dark, like purple-y and bruise colored, then try a color correcting concealer for dark circles. Otherwise, I recommend Bye Bye Under Eye from It Cosmetics. Love that stuff!

I have always had dark circles. I use red lipstick then cove with a concealer. It helps, but a lot of work. And I don't like to wear that much make up

There are many concealers designed specifically for dark circles. Try looking at Lisa Eldridge.com for video guide.

Genetically, I have very dark circles under my eyes.
I recently started using a combination of a colour corrector, then concealer beneath my stick foundation. All Bobbi Brown. My face has never looked better! I originally planned to only wear it all for special occasions (usually just wear BB cream each day) HOWEVER, I now get up 15 minutes earlier and use it every day because it just looks so much better.
I have now also added Puff off and a little pot concealer - sorry forgotten the name- from Benefits makeup line which are great also.

My husband and daughter get terrible dark circles under their eyes when their allergies act up. Maybe that's the case for you? It might be worth a try to take some allergy meds.

Sounds like the bye bye under eye is a winner and if not, there's other great ideas here, too. I'm also going to get the eye cream mentioned. I've never used one and maybe that is starting to catch up with me. Thanks peas- I knew you'd have an answer! :::blows kisses:::.

I agree with what @lanabug said about allergies. Do you get seasonal allergies? If so, that could be what's causing them if you haven't had them before.

I had a makeup artist suggest this combo:
Benefit ooh-la-lift (it's a pink & lightly shimmery under eye brightener) Benefit Erase Paste
Mix the two together and apply with a stiff, flat brush, making sure to go below the circles and in the corners of your eyes to help blend it all together. I usually mix it in the lid of the erase paste, about 2 parts erase paste to one part oo-la-lift. I use a Benefit brush too, it looks sort of like an eyeshadow brush. I apply it over my regular foundation, with the brush, and then smooth it out with my fingers.
The results are that it looks like I slept 12 hours and that never, EVER happens here!

Might this be "Erase Paste"? If so, that is what I use, and I love it. I've had dark circles under my eyes all my life, with slightly olive-toned skin which makes the cirlces look even darker. I've been using Erase Paste by Benefits for the last 8-10 years (ever since I discovered it) and it works well for me. It's creamy so it goes on smoothly but not oily so it stays in place. OP, as for a reason that you've started getting the circles just recently, it could be a flare-up with allergies (or asthma if you have that). Even sleep apnea can cause it. My asthmatic DD used to get deep dark circles under her eyes when she was having an asthma attack, and the darkness would sometimes last until after her breathing cleared. ETA: I see alissa103 beat me to it about the Erase Paste. GMTA!

Yes! Erase paste is what it is called. I use the little spatula and dab it on. Will definitely try it with the Benefit Ooh La lift, I didn't see that when I had my makeup done with them, but will check it out.

I don't use concealer because it erases the circles, but accentuates the wrinkles.

Could you use the Bye Bye Under Eye to conceal dark spots? I have one on my face that I would like to conceal. I have tried some concealer and they make me look older! I can't wait to try this one.

You could, but I would probably look for something made specifically for darker spots. Maybe Erase Paste. If you use a color correcting concealer underneath to counteract the dark, it would help too. Not sure what kind of spot it is, but you could also look into fading it. I have age spots on my face that I keep down with Vitamin C serum.

I find mine look worse at certain times of year too. I'm petty sure they are partly caused by allergies.

I have been using almond oil around my eyes at night after I wash my face and I wipe it off with a warm wash cloth in the morning. It seems to be slowly working at brightening my eye area.

It is recommended by Angie over at Hot & Flashy, which someone else mentioned on another thread: Hot & Flashy

I also use and like the Bye Bye Under Eye, but it is very thick and hard to apply. You only need the tiniest amount. I also find that if goes on better if I put a little under eye serum on first.

The trick is to put a little on the back of your hand and warm it up a bit by rubbing lightly with your finger first. When the texture become smoother, then apply.

I use medium. It is the recommended color if you are torn between light and medium. I wish it were a tad lighter just for highlighting purposes, but for concealing it works fine.

I have dark circles all around my eyes, thanks to my Hungarian dad. I use Cover girl concealer in a light color under my eyes then I lightly pat on my foundation. The best thing about having dark circles above my eyes, all I need is a highlighter under my brows and everyone thinks I have eye shadow on.

I hope you read this post, because I can save you money over some of the above suggestions. I've always had dark circles, and have never had any luck with truly covering them up. It actually helps that I wear glasses, as the sit over that area. Get yourself NYX dark circle concealer. It is a peach color, and that color counteracts the blue of the dark circles. I think it comes in a couple of shades; I use light. Don't apply anything underneath your eyes other than moisturizer. Then apply this product. I've tried different methods, and either a finger or flat brush both work well. Then tap with your finger to blend. Don't rub, or you'll rub it off. If you want to set the product with powder, try a light-reflecting one. I believe ELF makes a decent one. Only use a very light dusting. A great tip I learned is that the more products you use under your eyes, the more any fine lines or wrinkles will be accentuated. NYX products are WAY cheaper than most of the other options. You can find them at ULTA and some drugstores as well as online. ELF I usually get at Target, but can be found other places too. Here's a picture/link of the NYX product: NYX
