Is there some rule that requires a perfectly manicured lawn for Easter? Several neighbors are having their yards done this morning, and I am already over the sound of mowers and weed eaters! I can't believe that I have 7 more months of this to go!
BTW, trees here are just starting to bloom, and no one's grass is over 3 inches. Most lawns aren't even fully green, and they're being cut!

I've been going through a hard time for over 2 years now and I have heard from some "good friends" of mine once or twice. Haven't even gotten a text to check on me. It's really hurtful. I'm trying not to be bitter about it but I am.

There are people who start mowing at the end of Jan here, after stopping at the end of Nov.

Ok, body, what's up? This tardy period is not like you.
Before anyone congratulates me on a pregnancy, my tubes are tied. If nothing shows up this weekend, I'm calling for an appointment on Monday (offices are closed today).

This is the first week in forever that the kids will be gone at the same time (DS is going to visit DD). Unfortunately, I have quite a bit of stuff scheduled that can't be moved around. At least DH and I will have this weekend together and will be skipping Easter at his sister's so we can enjoy our peace and quiet.

When you tell me someone will be contacting me in 48 hours regarding the repair of my computer, I expect a call or email within 48 hours to either tell me they need more time to look at it, or give me the promised quote. I should not have to track you down, wait on hold and get unsatisfactory answers. Do not quote a time line if you cannot stick to it.

Hugs ... It stinks when the people who should be there for you aren't. Reach out to them too. They may get busy with their own stuff and it may just not be top on their minds, but they still care about you.
I would call or text and plan to get together with them. Even just for dinner or dessert. Being with them will make you feel better.
Hope your road ahead evens out.

DH and I have a HUGE project we must finish by MONDAY. This is one of those things where I am kicking myself for not staying on top of it and doing it in small chunks. Ugh. Will I ever learn??? Wish me luck, I'm taking on the majority of it because DH is also super busy right now.

Easter is a very difficult time for me as my precious dd was killed in a single car collision (she was a passenger in the back seat) on Easter Sunday 12 yeasrs ago. I have "complicated grief" as Easter Sunday has a different date each year, so I mourn on 'Easter Sunday', as well as the actual date of her death. She was a Sr. in HS. Wow lostinspace, I remember that day. I remember your post on 2Peas and your dd's name. I can't believe that it's been 12 years. I would have guessed 4 years. This must be so difficult for you. Take time to do something special for yourself this weekend.

Oh yah. I'm sure that will be in the plans. The weather is gorgeous here in Southern CA so it's a good way to get out and enjoy some of the trails.

I admit I've been thinking we need to mow the yard. the dog "fertilizer" has made polka dots all winter. I don't dare mention it because my husband HATES MOWING. We live in the country though so no one would say even if we let it grow up 3 feet.
My vent is: It shouldn't be so difficult to mail off a piece of framed artwork, but I'm hell bent I won't be using the $100 (!!!!) box they recommend. Screw that. It's cardboard and some foam. I did the same thing for about $10 and a couple hours of my day.

Further complicated is that my mom passed 3 weeks before my dd (cancer) & that my dad passed 15 days prior to mom, but 4 years earlier. I was only 40 years old when dad passed. Lots of grief & anniversaries in a 40 day consecutive time period. ( ( ( hugs ) ) ) to all of you that are struggling & have people in your life who simply cannot comprehend the daily ongoing struggle. I am sorry you had to endure all that. My kids are about that age and while there is never a good time for that to happen, senior year is when she should've been looking forward to launching her life. Be easy on yourself as you go through the anniversary dates. (HUGS)

We took DH's computer to a recommended shop. It appears they do good work, but you can never get ahold of the guy. He has posted Saturday hours, but we've gone by on two separate Saturdays to try and get the machine back and the place is closed. He doesn't readily return phone calls either.

Why can my boys not leave EVERY.SINGLE. light on and door open ALL.THE.TIME! What the heck?! I've told them what feels like a million times and they still can't figure it out. Ugh!
Also, dd--1 pm is NOT a convenient time to pick you up from your sleep over. 11 would have been easier as I was already out getting groceries. Now, I've done groceries, cleaned on filthy bathroom (thanks boys!), and need to go get her before I can start on the OTHER filthy bathroom. Ugh!
It's lucky my kids are cute.

I have terminal cancer and severe chemo neuropathy. It is cold, windy and raining here today. Today is a bad day (physically) for me. Yet I managed to get out of bed and to your place of business, 40 mins away, to deliver payment. A payment you told me must be made today. A payment you told me could be dropped off anytime between 9am and 5 pm. Yet I arrived to find a sign on your door, "Closed due to holiday"! I'm Catholic. I am very well aware that today is Good Friday. Did you just find out this morning and use it as an excuse for a day off? Are you just an insensitive sh*t for brains f*%ktard who likes screwing with people? I'd really like an answer because I find it extremely hard to believe any business owner would not be aware of the dates and times that their business is open. I should've stuck with the person I normally use for these events. I will know better for the future.

My kids only shut the door when it is beautiful out and I want it open. If it is cold outside and the heater is running, they leave it open. If it is hot outside and the a/c is running, they leave it open. If it is beautiful and there is a nice breeze...they close it.

Yes it has been 12 years. It is difficult at times to see her friends get married, graduate from university, get started in their careers & start their families. She would be 30 years old this summer. Thanks for remembering, as you truly do not know how much comfort that it gives me that someone remembers my beautiful dd. Tears are flowing in gratitude for your kind words. I have no doubt that she is fondly remembered by all who knew her. People do get busy but they will never forget. Wasn't there a story about your dd and your mother making a special bread? I think it was in your local paper?

Seriously? I put off going to the fabric store yesterday because you could go today!
And now you can't go because you are waiting for your daughter to visit. You knew this before you said you could go. Wth. Just say no I can't go.

Susie_Homemaker, I have been going through that also with one of my friends and it really hurts. I opened myself up several years ago about something very personal and painful in my life. She never once has ask a follow up question about what I talked to her about. During the past two months I have realized that our relationship and our daughter's relationship is very one sided. As much as I really enjoy our walks and time together (which don't happen that often) I am trying to pull away to minimize future hurt (on my daughter's part). I am really sorry you are going through this. I have really made an effort to make sure that I am being a good friend to my other friends and listening to their issues so that I never am ignorant or selfish like my friend has been. That has made me feel better.
Lostinspace...I am so sorry and can't even imagine what you are and have gone through. I hope you are able to remember all of the good memories with your daughter and that puts a smile on your face.

I don't love or hate my husband. I no longer care. That's a good place to reach. Love and especially hate take a lot of energy, now you can focus that energy on yourself.
