Have you ever used the lush bath bombs? What are your thoughts on them?

My 23 yr old DD seems to love them. I just wish she would clean the tub out afterwards!! Also, some are so strongly scented that I make her seal them in ziplock bags otherwise the scent takes over the bathroom if not the whole upper floor!

I actually was going to post about them. I do love them, but they are ridiculously expensive.
My DH usually buys me a gift card for my stocking and I just bought some this past weekend with it. I know to avoid the light pink one because it has little flower petals in it and makes a complete mess in the tub. But I bought a turquoise one that smelled lovely. Except when I dropped it in, it looked just like it had little black worms quickly crawling out of it. Ewww. It was dried tea leaves (or something like tea leaves), which of course don't dissolve. So yes, for an hour I steeped myself in tea. After which, I had the biggest freaking mess to clean up. I will definitely read the ingredients and ask questions before trying something new!
But I've bought some supplies to make my own at home. There are a lot of websites that tell you how. Hopefully they will turn out.

Get the scented epsom salts at Target. Smell just the same and feel great. And they are like 4 bucks for a huge bag.

Some make me itch. I don't use the whole bomb, who can afford to do that? I usually break off a chunk. I think they are really overpriced and overrated. But if I get them for a gift I use them.

DD gave me one of hers. It wasn't too heavily fragranced and my skin felt very soft afterward. The tub looked like a sushi roll exploded when I was done--the bomb had little black strips throughout that didn't really fully dissolve during my bath.
There are recipes all over Pinterest/Internet on how to make your own with essential oils. I've never tried to make them as I don't take baths that often.

DD is Lush's number one customer, and loves the bath bombs, but gets very annoyed that I won't let her use them in our bath, as the 'bits' block the whirlpool jets. Most Lush products are a bit too strongly scented for me, but the bathroom always smells glorious after DD has been abluting!

I love them, but I usually break them up. Get more than one bath out of each one.

I love Rose Jam Bubbleroon so much I can hardly stand myself. Just rosy and decadent and lovely. But $8.95 is a little spendy, without a doubt. I can break it in half pretty easily (it's like an Oreo) and it's fine. But every now and then (like 2x a year) I toss a whole one in and lie around for an hour or more with a glass of wine or six. It's not cheap, but compared to a lot of other indulgences in life, not awful either. It doesn't leave too much behind. I think at Christmas, I bought 2 of the Rose Jam shower gel ( ) and three of the Bubbleroon. That will last a while and is just a treat for myself. Epsom salts at Target though.. huh, who knew? I might have to try that.

My sister in law works there and sadly, we only have a shower stall at home. Very jealous of you all. I kept telling myself the bath bombs can't be thaaat great, but I am apparently wrong!
I do love the Rose Jam shower gel, though, and the Dream Cream body lotion. Yum!

They are the best. My best girlfriends and I justify the price by bubble bathing together when I'm in town with a few bottles of wine, it's easy to justify when there are 3 of us! Ha.

YES! I just bought a bunch today Here's a little secret ... Lush only has one sale a year. It's the day after Christmas and all of the holiday stuff is buy one, get one free. This even includes the big gift sets! I always go and buy a bunch of gift sets and they last me well into the summer. Rose Jam is GREAT and is always included in the gift sets. I get the one that has Ro's Argan Body Conditioner (this is carried year round) and the body wash. I love love love Lush ~ ETA ~ There is a gift set that has Rose Jam in it and they carry it all the time. It's called Rosie: www.lushusa.com/Rosie/05352,en_US,pd.html

DN 12 is obsessed with them. It's all she wanted for her birthday. She also makes her own. Thanks for the advice about the annual sale, paigewh. I'll watch for it next year. It will be great timing for her February birthday.

I love the idea of them but, in practice, most of them create a colossal mess.

I think they are completely overpriced rubbish . I would much rather spend my money on a beautiful bath oil, such as the aromatherapy associates deep relax oil. That works out as £1 a bath (as opposed to £3-6 for a bath bomb), although I bought left over Christmas stock at half the price .

Be careful if there is a nut allergy in your family. It is a lot of work to scrub the tub very clean so that there is no residue for the next person.

My DD loves them. I used to buy them regularly in their former life as Cosmetics to go. I find them a little too smelly for my taste now.

I got some for Christmas but I never take a bath so they went in the water for my pedicure, they smelt nice enough but the mess was unbelievable. One was a Christmas pudding and it left the water a disgusting brown with bits floating in it, not attractive by anyones standards!! The only Lush product I really enjoy is the rock star soap.
ETA I do shower everyday before anyone thinks I'm a dirty Gertie!

They were the one thing on my Christmas list last year. I like using them occasionally as a treat.
Some of them do make a mess but I haven't had any trouble just spraying the residue away as I'm draining the tub.
Some make the water weird colors. I used a Christmas one that was red and I sent a pic of my feet in the water telling dh I was bathing in blood.

I have never used them. Do they have oil in them to make it harder to clean or is it just salt and some little floaties? Just curious. I hear people love them but would hate to have to scrub the tub to remove the oil and don't have a sprayer on my tub so it really is a pain to clean.

I've never had any residue. I just rinse the tub out with a hand spayer after the tubs drains . Never had a problem at all or had to scrub. I clean the tub out weekly anyway, it's always a quick job.

I've never used the bath bombs because I never take baths. I've always been tempted by them, but have been worried they'd stain my tub.
Iuse a lot of Lush products, and have found a few that leave a residue in the shower and require some cleanup. The Buffy bar left a big mess and the tub was really slippery afterward. I love the scent of Rose Argan Body Conditioner but don't like the greasy feeling on the shower floor when I've finished showering.
I'll join in the love for Rose Jam. I just finished my bottle of it last week. Love that stuff.
I was terribly upset when they stopped making the 'old' charity pot. For awhile they kept making it but sold it as "Formulae Known As" but they stopped making it altogether. Now my favorite body lotion is Sympathy for the Skin. I had never tried it because I was concerned that it would smell too banana-y, but it's really quite lovely. Lately I've been washing with Bohemian lemon soap and using this lotion. It's a great combo. I also absolutely love the Sultana of Soap and would highly recommend it.

My 15 year old son loves Lush. When he was little he loved going into the store because the girls all loved on him. This past Christmas was the first in a long time that he didn't ask for Lush products. I think his favorite product is the sugar lip scrub.

I hear people love them but would hate to have to scrub the tub to remove the oil and don't have a sprayer on my tub so it really is a pain to clean. Some of them do not leave any residue other than what you'd leave from a normal bath. And none of them that I've tried have been oily. But there are two that I mentioned in my previous post that left a big mess. A pink one left a big mess of flower petals. And when I was finished with my bath with the turquoise one, it was as if I'd taken a pot where I'd made loose tea and mixed it in. It had all these tea-like leaves that did not dissolve that I had to rinse out and then dig them out from the trap. The worst was a Christmas one with gold glittery stuff. It left kind of a gold residue much finer than glitter and did require scrubbing, which I did NOT want to do after a relaxing bath. I don't mind something that I have to rinse out, but I don't have a sprayer either so that means me rinsing with a few big glasses of water. But I don't want to get on my knees and pick out leaves or petals or scrub the tub. That negates the purpose of a relaxing bath. Anyway, I mostly know which ones to avoid but will definitely ask questions if I want to try something new.
