In a previous thread, I complained that teens are just like giant toddlers (and they are, nothing about that has changed.) I also had some not so happy mom comments on threads about texting teens and other various topics. I know I am not the only one who gets frustrated with their kids (and dare I even admit that sometimes I don't even like them??) but gosh, sometimes days happen that remind me that they really are cool kids who will grow up to men that I am going to proud of. Today was one of those days...I'd like to share, and would love to hear about yours too. Complaining is SO easy when the kids are teens, they give us a LOT to complain about. Praising is sometimes harder, and honestly, they don't always make it easy. So I figured a thread about complaining should be balanced with one of praise. Y'all want to play along? I'll start. *my oldest made a promise to his brother that would be difficult to follow through on, but he did it anyway. *my oldest took the ASVAB yesterday, and is making some amazing and sound choices for his future *my youngest finally got his report card/FCAT (Florida's assessment test) today- he has a 4.39 GPA (3.07 GPA) and a 5 on the reading portion of the test, a six on the writing portion (10th grade.) *my youngest took his driver's test this week and did great *my oldest stopped on his way home the other day just so he could bring me home a chocolate milkshake *my youngest took/bought me lunch today You know, on the whole, these things arent *that* big of a deal, but these big dorky boys in my world made me smile.
