I saw one of these being demoed. The price... $2300! Holy crap. Is that for real? Anyone have one? I love the water concept but seriously $2300 for a vacuum. Granted it does also purify the air. I just can not spend that kind of money on a vacuum.

ever heard of Filter Queen?...same type of deal...back in the mid 90s they were $2000 Canadian but you could get the demonstrator to go down to about $1000 if you were a good negotiator lol! Check reviews...they are good vacuums from what I've heard but the price tag is too high.

yeah, they are about the same as a brand new Kirby. It's not worth it and the water thing is all talk. It's absolutely horrible to get out of the vacuum. Dirt you can dump. Mud has to be washed out. it's disgusting. We had a Rainbow for a couple of years that Dad got after his mom passed away. We all hated that thing and practically threw a party when Mom finally replaced it.

Don't think they're available here - what a ridiculous price

Watch Craigslist and EBay. We paid $300 for a refurbished model 17 years ago. That puppy just died last year.

Don't waste your money. We used to have carpet, and this thing didn't get crap out of it.

When I worked for not so merry maids , we had a customer that wanted us to use that. We did if they were home, but never if they weren't. We would take it apart and spray water into it like we used it.
I would rather get rid of the carpeting.

We had one of these about 15 years ago. I hated it. I was so happy when the motor burned out and I could get something else. DH made me store it down the basement "until we could get it fixed". I finally threw it in the trash last month and he said "So you're getting rid of that rainbow. It's about time". Men!

My mom had one back in the 70's and swears by them. She found me an old Rainbow years ago at a flea market for I think $150. I used it for a few years before the motor literally burned up. The model was from the 80's and I had it in the early 2000s. It was AMAZING to see all the crap that it got out of the carpet that my regular vacuum did not. I would absolutely get another one, if the price was right. My husband has a dust allergy (among other allergies...), and our downstairs and one set of stairs is carpeted (as are the bedrooms). We went with wood upstairs when we bought our home in 2006, but I am wishing we had just done wood throughout. I can't vacuum if he is home or if he will be home soon, because it stirs up too much dust and/or cat dander and he has terribly allergy issues. Wasn't an issue with the Rainbow, since everything is sucked through a tank of water.

I've never owned one or seen a demo, but the combo of water and dirt just doesn't make sense to me. Water + dirt = mud somewhere
