She was able to move some things around to come speak at a conference this week in Orlando. HOLY MOLY, she is HYSTERICAL and a phenomenal speaker!
Eat, Love, Pray was fantastic, but i'm SO excited to read Big Magic, based on her session it will be life changing. I'm making myself wait until I finish the other 3 books i've been working through. Have you read her books? This was a total bucket list moment for me.
One of the awesome takeaways from her session was that she's started making life connections, when life meets life. She asks strangers "What are you most excited about in your life? " I've heard stories from cab drivers, bell hops, room service delivery people, TSA agents, pilots and other perfect strangers and it's SO much fun.

My excitement: My husband quit his career of 20 years to take a giant leap into a new profession. He starts tomorrow, and will be the lowliest of the low at his new career. We are going to be POOR for awhile, and he will also be back in school, but he is truly HAPPY for the first time in years. Money may be tight, but I am seeing the bounce back in his step! This is the biggest leap of our lives, and I am excited!

My husband had a similar journey almost a year ago..completely changed professions and took a HUGE paycut, but man, he is HAPPY! Congratulations! |

Right now? We are closing on a house in a couple of weeks. Very excited to get to paint walls something other than beige again, and our teen is ecstatic.

I recently read Big Magic and enjoyed it. She has a podcast, also called Big Magic, that is interviews with creative folks talking about "big magic" in their lives. It's good too. The episode with Brené Brown is especially good.
I pretty much hated Eat, Pray, Love, so you definitely don't have to be a fan to like Big Magic.
What I am most excited about is the birding trip we are taking this weekend. There are a lot of things about it that make it special and I can't wait.

I'm currently listening to Big Magic. It's wonderful. I am most excited about my daughters upcoming first birthday. We are spending it at Disneyland and I cannot wait!

I just started Big Magic on Friday, and I am loving it, because it's all about creativity and that is something I've struggled with for years.
I think it's very lucid and really well-written. I liked Eat, Pray, Love a lot too, and wasn't among the Peas who found her to be whiny.
The most compelling part of the book for me so far, is her concept of entitlement as it relates to being creative--entitlement being a positive thing in this case--and it's got me looking at creativity in a way I never have before.

I was supposed to see her speak on her book tour but had to cancel at the last minute. I did still get my signed copy of her book though. I loved Big Magic. Lots of great stuff in there! It usually takes me a while to get through non-fiction books but I couldn't put it down.

Daughter is coming home in less than a month.
I am always excited about my chickens.
My husband cleared the garden out! I am excited to plant stuff.
Son is close to graduating!
There is just so much , big things and little things.
Sometimes it is just waiting for the sunrise that makes me excited.
I am really a very boring person.

I'm most excited that the crappy start to this year is behind us. My husband is healthy, our house sold, and we are in planning stages for a new home. I finally feel like I can settle into our new life in a new state. Such a relief! |

I love her & her books. She is a good speaker too. Check out her podcast for Big Magic, it's good. I've only read part of it so far, it is def inspiring.
I actually saw her at her shop but was too shy to say anything to her. I feel like she gets ppl telling her "your book changed my life" too much. I actually resisted reading EPL for a long time, didn't really understand what is was about, except for the fact that I was going thru exactly what she did. Then when I read it, it was like ah-ha! She is a great writer, all her books are good.
She was on an Oprah show too, the Soul Sunday or something like that, it's On Demand.

I am excited for my divorce and the changes that I have been making in my life since. I thought I would be sad for a lot longer, but seeing the positive changes and the impact on myself and my kids is amazing! I have never been so happy and excited about life! I can't believe that I was so unhappy and unmotivated before and was never able to see it.
I feel great and am excited for whatever life has to bring next!

I enjoyed her book The Signature of All Things, but I have zero interest in the other ones. So, what are you most excited about in your life? As for that, I find it really annoying when people do that and think they are very intense & meaningful but it just sounds so pre-manufactured and fake. If we're friends, you'll already know what I'm excited about in my life right now, if you're a stranger - then I'll be most excited about walking away from the person asking me the dumb question. |

I loved Gilbert's books Eat, Pray, Love & The Signature of All Things. I tried to read Big Magic but quit a short way into it, just didn't like it, thought it was a book about nothing.
