As abhorrent as his actions towards women has been to try to erase him from the history of television and education gives an inaccurate picture of what occurred. He developed shows that were groundbreaking and sponsored educational programs and scholarships that positively impacted a large number of people. You cannot rewrite history.

I really don't have an issue with it. The exhibit is about his contributions in entertainment - as vile as I think he is as a human being, there's no denying the impact he's had on the industry and American culture in general. I think a person's contributions to a society can be separated from their (often despicable) personal actions. I'd venture to guess that there are many historical figures who've committed criminal or questionable acts - they just had the benefit of living in a time where there was no internet and those acts were largely swept under the rug.

I think it's just another example of how society gives men a free pass and women are villainized when it comes to sexual behavior. Another example of hey, let's sweep it under the carpet and pretend it didn't exist, as long as it's a mans behavior.

It's par for the course in the entertainment industry. There is always so much outrage in professional sports when this happens, but it seems to be largely ignored with people in music and acting.

If I saw correctly, they will include a mention of his current legal troubles. I'm not sure it will first the article says "The decision not to include references to Cosby's accusers has been singled out for criticism." But it also said something about putting a sign up last summer about not supporting him. Yet this museum is still slated to open this September so I'm not sure where the sign was. It's confusing. I like how the article uses Roman Polanski and Michael Jackson as examples. Ok so one rich guy gets away with being a sexual predator so going forward they all do? I just think it's time we do better. |

I personally do not believe that people should be wiped from history because of their misdeeds. I don't believe you ignore a person's place in history because he is a predator. He still has a place in history and I would leave the exhibit and add the part about his legal troubles. That shows that people who are beloved, who are iconic, who are seen as awesome people in the public eye, can, in fact, be predators. |

I do t think he should be wiped from history. I don't think he could be wiped from history.
I'm just tired of the same old rich guys get nothing but a hand slap and move on. I just wish we could really change the way out society desks with that.
I'm hoping that they do take the opportunity to actually open a discussion on how that 'nice guy' that talented guy can/could be a predator that would be a step in the right direction.

Just being the Devil's Advocate here but has he been found guilty in a court of law. You know innocent until proven guilty?
Irrespective of what he has been charged with you cannot just wipe out history - what he achieved in the entertainment industry was amazing the rest of it not so much.
FYI - I personally think, with what has been in the media, he is guilty as charged.
