I got an email notification that an estranged relative is following me on Google+. I don't understand what that means or why they would do that. (This is a relative who has been very hateful towards me in the past, so I'm especially leery.)
Does anyone have any experience with Google+?

Google+ is like Facebook, just not as popular. You can follow people who have gmail accounts even if they didn't set up their Google+. I tried it for awhile, but no one posts there.
ETA - if you never use it, he won't see anything.

I haven't used Twitter in years and I still get followers. It is usually for advertising. Trying to get you to go to their site.
