I promised to be team mom for my son's tennis team. I have 15 mns and must get something written and out tonight and of course Sign Up Genius is down for maintenance. aargh. I know I should be grateful for this free service, but I also know they are making a boatload of money and I have a dinner guest tonight.
Which leads me to my second vent. My brother is just wonderful, he really is, but I do not have time! He wants to stay overnight so that means he'll be drinking (ugh!) and I had to clean the bathroom, put on new sheets and then I'll have to do it all again after he leaves. I can't say no to him and I don't want to say no. But he has no kids and expects me to be at his beck and call (I am not). And then I feel mean and small because I just want an evening to myself.
I haven't finished the financial aid for my girls' schools and work is insane (I worked all weekend) and people have sent me lists of what they need tomorrow. I know they need it, but there's just ME left to do it. We had a layoff and out of the 90 people in my department, there are 2 of us left. TWO. Everyone is respectful of that and of me, but they still need things, right?
I just want to sit and watch Call the Midwife. Yes, I do.
