Some of you may remember I needed an increase in my medication. My insurance company did not want to pay for my increase so I've been appealing their decision and my doctor has been giving me samples to supplement what the insurance company will pay for. Well I learned today that the insurance ruled in my favor. Not only did I get the increased dosage, it didn't cost me more money either. I am so happy right now that I don't have to switch medications.

That is great news - it is really too bad though that you had to fight for it in the beginning but at least your doctor had a way to help you.

Yay! Ask your insurance company if you will have to appeal this every year when your insurance starts over. When we had Blue Cross, we had to file an appeal to get a certain brand name medication instead of a generic for my husband every single darned year. It was a pain in the butt, but the $$ saved made it worth every cent. My DH now has Aetna and only has to appeal every 3 years.

I remember your post and I'm so glad it's worked out for you. I still think it's absolutely ridiculous the kind of stuff insurance companies try to get away with. You shouldn't have had to go through all of that to begin with.
