My MIL was admitted to the hospital yesterday with pneumonia and I'm taking my boys by to see her this morning. Bringing gifts everywhere if very important in her culture, even if they just throw them away after the person leaves , so I definitely can't arrive empty handed. Any quick gift ideas in addition to flowers (which I do plan on bringing)? TIA!

If she does crosswords, word searches, etc, you could take her a puzzle magazine. A book? Does she crochet or knit or do cross stitch?
I will say when I had pneumonia, all I could do was sleep. It is very taxing.

I agree with the magazines. When I had surgery in November, I always felt really dried out. How about a couple of different magazine along with some lotion and lip stuff in a cute gift bag? Hope she feels better soon!

Magazines or a book along with some chap stick and lotion in a cute little bag or tied together with a ribbon.

Excellent ideas ladies! I probably even have some nice lotion here at home somewhere.

I think Snuggies are the stupidest thing ever. However, when I was in the hospital, it would have been really nice to have one. Hospitals are always cold and their blankets are woefully inadequate. Robes? How would you even get one on with the IV. I think a Snuggie is the perfect gift for someone in the hospital.

Like the lotion, chapstick and magazine/book ideas. How about fuzzy socks in case it's cold. If she likes flowers, they would brighten her room. If she feels well enough to be thirsty/hungry and is not restricted, a small basket of some favorite healthy snacks and drinks - for her as well as other guests.

Fuzzy socks? Nice nightgown because the hospital ones are scratchy. Books, magazines. Book light so if she has a roommate the light won't bother them if she is reading.

When I am at the hospital I am always freezing this would be perfect.
