Good morning ladies!! I hope everyone is having a successful week!!
The game last night was AMAZING! Freezing cold but amazing. It was 40 but with the wind it felt about 20. 4.5 hours out in it and by the time we left, none of us could feel our bodies. LOL But an amazing experience that I'm so thankful that we were able to give our kids.
I did great with eating yesterday despite a sporadic and weird eating schedule. LOL I ended up the day with more than my normal calories but well within what MFP says I should have.
Today I have a dentist appt to get 7 surface cavities fixed. I'm not looking forward to it but I want it done. They told me to eat a big breakfast because I probably won't be able to eat much after I'm done. Since the cavities are spread through top and bottom and both sides, I'll be completely numb. So I did eat a little bit bigger breakfast than normal. But no lunch for me and dinner will be iffy.

Ugh......not a dentist fan, but it is necessary! My dentist won't freeze the whole mouth - they only work on one side and then do the other side at a second appointment. I have a large filling due to be fixed in June....not excited about it at all!
Lots of work for me today, plus I have a dinner out with the committee I was on to organize a gala fundraiser for our radio station. That will be lots of fun. I know where we are going, so I know what I'm aiming for on the menu so I don't eat bad choices. But there will definitely be a glass of wine on the list!

Sounds Lille a great night brandy! I'm doing ok but am feeling blah about my weight . I'm due for my period at the end of the week and I'm retaining water. I hate that feeling! Hopefully I'll be ok by Saturday for my weigh in! Sitting at the Walter Reed military pharmacy waiting for son meds for my dh and Ed. Just saw my dietician after almost 4 months away. My schedule has been just a and I just haven't had time! She's pleased with my weight loss to dqte but she was bummed that She wasn't able to help me lose as much as WW has. After talking a bit we realized that it was likely because the calories I was assigned were too large scaleless that making one not-so-great choice would not reduce my calories as much as it would for my points I'm allotted. It makes sense. If I have a snickers bar on the counting calories plan I'm out about 250 calories; on the smart points I'm out 14 points of my 38. That's a bigger "shock " for me. My brother and sister are here for my dad's Confirmation so I'm not sure what I'm doing today. Hope everyone has a great day! Good luck with the fillings brandy and have fun at dinner cake diva!

Hope it goes well today brandy327 and really pleased that you had a great time yesterday. I lost half a pound at weigh in last night, so pleased with that. Keep going everyone it's a marathon not a sprint

Good morning everyone! I haven't been on the threads as much this week for some reason but am doing ok. We went to a waterpark last weekend and I am happy to say that I wore my swimsuit and had fun. Although I didn't necessarily overeat, I did gain some weight from the types of foods. That is almost gone now, which is good, especially since I am expecting my period any day now. It must be the week do the dentist. . I went yesterday and was told I need to have a deep cleaning done and am not looking forward to it. I have to take 7yo DS today to have a cap put on. He had a filling fall out apparently and now the tooth needs more work. Hopefully he does ok with it.

Today is my cheat day! I am having lunch with some good friends and I am so looking forward to it! We are going to a Mexican joint so I decided that I will have fajitas to try and be a little healthier than normal. But I will still eat the chips!
I heard the best story the other day! In Feb I organized and held a wellness event for my work since we don't have an official wellness plan. I hosted a meeting about the event and told folks that last year I made a commitment to my own health and it's finally paying off! I told them that I work 50 hours a week, dh works 60 we have 3 kids who are in 5 activities 4 nights out of every week. And yet I promised myself that I would workout 5 times a week and commit to eating healthy, homemade foods. If I can find time to do this stuff then most people can you just have to focus on your own needs, kind of speech.
Well yesterday a lady came up to me and said that she is single, has no kids, no dh and only works 35 to 40 hours a week but she recently started going to the gym several days a week. She said she looked at her schedule and told herself that if I can find time with my crazy schedule then surely she can find time. So she started going and has lost a few pounds! I was so proud of her! My goal at work is to keep hosting these wellness events and then maybe if my boss sees an impact then we can move to a full blown wellness plan!

Good morning to everyone! I'm on day 4 of my 14 day challenge with a couple friends. So far all 3 of us are doing VERY well! It's so motivating to have the encouragement of others. Today is my husband's birthday and the family will have ice cream cake, but I will not be joining in. Just happened to fall in the middle of the 14 days and I do not want to undo all the good I've done so far. Unfortunately I've had so many extra meetings at work this week that the gym has been left out of the equation for me. Bummed! That's my happy place. But at least the food part is going well. Have a good day!

The scale has not moved in 2 weeks...not going up or down and I'm not sure why. I'm making wise food choices and staying within my points on WW. I am exercising every day (run/walk depending on the day). I'm getting no less than 10,000 steps every day. I'm totally stumped why I'm not losing weight.
Here's my two theories why 1) I'm eating too much fruit. I have approx. 2 cups of mixed fresh fruit every day. One at lunch and then one with dinner. I'm thinking too much sugar? Is that possible - too much fruit sugar? 2) I eat the same food over and over. 1 egg, egg beaters, toast for breakfast. Salad or flat out wrap for lunch. Afternoon snack is celery, small apple and WW string cheese. Chicken and salad for dinner. Can eating the same thing all the time hinder your weight loss?

Hey, ladies! Sorry I haven't been around much. Not much has changed. But I did have a Dr. appointment today.
At my last appointment (last October), my cholesterol had dropped 22 points. We drew blood for a test for it today. We're hoping for at LEAST 10 more. I should have those results early next week.
NSV: As for my BP, it's been great, and she is still hoping to eventually drop those meds, as well, but when we try, for some reason, it always goes back up over a 3-6 mo. period. Anyway, she decided to try dropping to the lowest I can take. I start that tomorrow. Yay!

brandy327 I would rather go to ANY type of dr than the dentist. Hope everything goes well for you.
needmysanity I'm wondering about the fruit thing, too. If I have cottage cheese, I always eat strawberries, or apples, or part of a banana in it- that's once a day for either breakfast or lunch. Then I may have more fruit with dinner- usually cantaloupe or honeydew. I've been eating the same foods, too -basically everyday. It's hard to get all of the protein and keep the carbs down- so I've been sticking with what I know is reasonable. But, I don't see the pounds falling off. According to MFP, I'm always under my 1250 calories- somewhere around a thousand something. And some days, I get that warning that I'm not eating enough calories- it's a pain!!!

The scale has not moved in 2 weeks...not going up or down and I'm not sure why. I'm making wise food choices and staying within my points on WW. I am exercising every day (run/walk depending on the day). I'm getting no less than 10,000 steps every day. I'm totally stumped why I'm not losing weight.
Here's my two theories why 1) I'm eating too much fruit. I have approx. 2 cups of mixed fresh fruit every day. One at lunch and then one with dinner. I'm thinking too much sugar? Is that possible - too much fruit sugar? 2) I eat the same food over and over. 1 egg, egg beaters, toast for breakfast. Salad or flat out wrap for lunch. Afternoon snack is celery, small apple and WW string cheese. Chicken and salad for dinner. Can eating the same thing all the time hinder your weight loss?
Way back when I was on WW years ago after having my first DS, there was something called the "Wendy plan". Basically, someone came up with the idea that alternating high points/calorie days with medium and low calorie days kept your body guessing and your metabolism running. She had a website that explained it. It was very well known and was always suggested when people were having a plateau. It makes sense to me and I tend to have weeks like that as well--some days when I eat a little over my TDEE, two fasting days (500 calories or less) and then sometimes another day that is under my goal but not quite fasting.

Hi all. I have been having a great past few days exercise and eating wise. Work? That's a whole other story. I am very excited that tomorrow is Friday. I'm ready for the weekend. I finally was able to get to the gym to start up my old membership. Today I was supposed to go on a swim outing with girls from my work, but it was raining and the pool we go to is outdoor. So I ran home, changed into work out gear and went to the gym instead. I did the eliptical with varying resistance levels for 45 minutes and I did some circuit training in the weight room.
B - oatmeal with brown sugar and strawberries, string cheese L - grilled chicken tacos D - quinoa with grilled chicken and mixed veggies S - carrots, grape tomatoes, and cucumber slices

Must be bad news at the dentist week...
Ds went yesterday. We found out that his adult teeth are not coming in like they should. He is 11 with 5 adult teeth. On X-ray they have not moved in three years. So, we are getting 6 pulled and two spacers. Good times.
I am really worried this will put him behind in his speech therapy. We were hoping he could be released prior to starting middle school in 7th grade. He is right on the cusp of being released from speech.
Today I ate all the foods. All of them. They were healthy choices for the most part. I was so hungry. I ate half my lunch before lunch. I did not have protein at breakfast like normal, so I think that was it. Won't make that mistake again.

I'm a creature of habit and honestly eat the same things ALL the time. I just went a month in basically the same weight range - up .5 lb up and then down .5 lb. I kept consistent and then this week at weight in I lost almost 5 lbs!!! I think your body just plateau's and you have to hold steady. Keep doing what you've been doing and then one day it'll catch up!! I took photos yesterday or the day before...of the 1 month where I was mostly plateaued...and the change was evident. I'll find the photo to share...hold on...here it is! I can definitely see the difference and there's less than a 10 lb loss. So just hang in there, keep doing what you're doing and the results will eventually happen!!

Thanks everyone!! My dentist appt went fine. The dentist told me that I was a fantastic patient. He said some patients would've delayed the procedure by another 45 mins by not opening their mouths or needed breaks. I wanted it done as quickly as possible, he did a fantastic job of numbing me up where I didn't even feel the needle sticks, and it didn't hurt one single bit. I had nothing to complain about, KWIM? I'm glad it's done and hopefully I'll be cavity free for a long, long time.
My eating today? Eh. I ate a big breakfast - 2 egg whites, 2 slices of bacon, 2 slices of whole wheat toast and a whole grapefruit. No lunch since I was numb in the mouth for almost 6 hours. Dinner was a grilled cheese sandwich on whole grain bread, a cup of tomato soup and some mini saltines. My mouth wasn't completely back to normal but I was starving and had a headache. So today was a processed food day for me since dinner was almost all proceeded. I also had cookies and ice cream. So yeah, not my best eating day. But I'm back 100% on plan tomorrow with no guilt today.

brandy327 That's a great idea- I need to take pictures- should have already started. You can definitely see that you're losing!
I know my belly was going down, but it seems to vary now. I know I'm supposed to eat 3 meals a day, but now I'm not so sure about lunch. It's a struggle. I'm not giving up- my belly will be flat!
