One of my good friends got laid off today and she's really bummed out. I wanted to get her a little something to try to cheer her up. Any ideas?

Is she close by? Pick up takeout, a bottle of wine, and drop by. Your time and a soft shoulder are the best gift you can give.

Bottle of wine and flowers from the grocery store.

I'd try to think of something she buys herself as an indulgence. She may be thinking she will have to give up the extras for awhile until she gets another job. Something like a gift certificate for a manicure.

I was thinking some cocktails would be a good time to let her vent/cry/celebrate and you could be there as a supportive friend.

Her favorite alcohol and your shoulder was going to be my suggestion as well.

If she doesn't drink, decadent chocolate. Or bring over a pint of her favorite ice cream with 2 spoons
