A lot of cultures eat octopus as an everyday food, like others have mentioned... When I think of octopus dishes, my mind goes to Europe and the Mediterranean... Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Greek... Portuguese friends make and 'everyday' casserole with octopus in it, and Spanish friends make an 'everyday' Spanish rice dish... Octopus, cuttlefish, and squid are pretty common these days... Calamari sounds more melodic than squiiidddd. Doesn't it?
