Well that was interesting. I contacted Fitbit and apparently, since I bought my Fitbit from QVC, any problem with it is QVC's problem and not Fitbits. So, I have now sent a politely worded inquiry to QVC to see what, if anything, they will do about a replacement or refund. I read a bunch of messages on Fitbit's community forum and appears that the Fitbit Charge band separating from the actual Fitbit tracker is a relatively common occurrence. Bummer.

So. I'm in Disney World (Epcot Actually ) and notice my Fitbit Charge is falling apart. Ack.
Has this happened to any one else? It's under 6 months old and I'll contact them when I get home.
Was just wondering if anyone had any else had this problem.

That happened to my first charge HR as well. I contacted Fitbit and they replaced it.

call fitbit. Daughter has had 3 fitbit surges fall apart and or not work and they have replaced them. She has to call on another one because it never has worked right and it doesn't sync up with her app on her phone. They are really good about sending out replacements,,, good luck.

My 11 month old charge started separating - sent them a pic of the charge and a pic of the receipt and they sent a replacement which was in my hands within 3 days. It was a refurb (I think) and didn't come with any extras like charging cord. The replacement has been working perfectly for 6 months now. I was very please with their customer service (and was even more pleased it didn't happen at the 13 month mark when it would not have been covered)
ETA - they cant replace just the band as it is not designed to be separated

Yes twice they replaced it both times. Well the first one was replace because of the recall and they gave me money. DH on the other hand hadn't had an issue.
I got a Fitbit 1 one now. I normally wear it in my shoulder but I see online I can buy a wristband for my one.

my dd had her fitbit fall off because it wouldn't stay fastened, they replaced it and the band cuz it got lost as a result. call them

My FitBit Charge has been replaced twice. The first time because it separated and the second time because it stopped holding a charge.

This product continues to both annoy and fascinate me. My Charge HR won't sync. Or at least it says it isn't but the dashboard shows steps if you manually sync. But the clock is all fouled up -- it's stuck on April 7 at 2:30 p.m.
Tech support said I need the new firmware (which I downloaded at the end of January, but they said I need to do it again). I'd be pleased to do that ... if the damn firmware would download. But, like sync, it won't do that either.
The complaints about this software problem are myriad at the community boards.

I had that happen on my first Fitbit, which was a Force. I glued it and it worked for a while, but I ended up getting a Charge to replace it. I actually think I was wearing my Force too tight so I didn't bother contacting the co, since I'd declined the recall when I had a chance to send it in. There was an issue with the Force and skin sensitivity, but since that wasn't an issue for me I didn't return it.

I'm sending my Charge back to QVC. They are charging me $6.95 for return postage, so that plus reading the Fitbit community boards (where this issue is really really common), has me convinced this is a defective product and I have little faith that a 2nd reconditioned Charge would be a wise choice to make.
I've asked for a refund and will now begin the search for a new step tracker.

This is why I ended up with a Fitbit one, I liked the ap and had all my normal meals already entered in and I didn't want to start over. The actual tracker is not the problem but what they make to attach it to you isn't as good.
Did you know you can buy wristbands that fit the Fitbit one? I just ordered one but it's not here yet.

That's weird - they usually have excellent customer service. I'd send an email to fitbit, with a copy of your invoice and tell them that you expect them to honor their 1-year warranty.

I did contact Fitbit. They sent me to QVC. Maybe that's the agreement they have with that particular vendor??? I'm thinking of upgrading anyway, so it's all good. I am just a "walker", plus I'm finding a could really use a tracker that alerts me to texts alerts as well as phone calls. I'm not complaining- I just thought I'd share my experience.

I won't buy my next Fitbit through QVC then. I've bought mine through either the FitBit website or Amazon and they've been amazing in their customer service!

I'm guessing where a Fitbit is purchased does come into play when there is an issue. I have replaced my Fitbit with a Garmin and so far I'm absolutely loving it! I'm still waiting to hear from QVC to see if they will give me any money back. I'm just considering the whole thing a learning experience. I did buy my Garmin from Amazon. Didn't want to make that boo-boo again. Ha Alls well that ends well.
