My phone is next to naked. I have a hard plastic case on it that I bought at Disneyland Paris. It has corner bumpers that in theory should help protect the screen if dropped, but it's more fashion than protection.
And now I have probably jinxed myself and will drop and break my phone later today. :-P

You don't have one of my top three things on your poll and that's the size of it. I like to keep the case as small and thin as possible. I don't like the big Otterbox style cases and won't buy one that big and bulky.

I go between being grudgingly admiring of their carefreeness and appalled at their risk taking

My iPhone 5 was completely naked for the 2 years I used it. I think it was the most beautiful iPhone style so far. I couldn't cover all that gorgeousness. People did think I was nuts to not have a case. It survived a few falls.

I like cute cases. I'm really careful and never drop my phone. Except that one time I cracked the screen. And then the other time I dropped it but the screen didn't crack. It wouldn't work anymore, but the screen was fine. I learned my lesson, though, and I'm not going to drop it again. And my case is super cute.

I currently have an otterbox case. The hard rubberized edges also protect the screen, so that would be #1. It was only available in plain black and pink, which I dislike. So, given that I can already get a protective case, I would also want a cute pattern. This (except mine's gray). I would love to have the same case with something girly and fun.

It makes me anxious when I see someone with a barely protected phone. I go between being grudgingly admiring of their carefreeness and appalled at their risk taking LOL!!! And then when they inevitably DO drop and break their screen, like my SIL the very day she bought her brand new iPhone 6, I internally roll my eyes and say "Serves you right!" I know so many people who have broken their screens because (a) they were too lazy to buy a screen protector or decent cover, or (b) they're too cool to buy a dorky wallet style cover like mine! Oh well, I shall continue to feel a certain smugness and lovingly caress my dorky wallet style cover each time yet another person smashes their phone that cost more than my first car!

I recently bought a new phone and had to get a case. I ordered it off Amazon, and it's rubberized black with white trim with a little kickstand so that the phone props up. It cost a penny. I think shipping was $3.99. I am really happy with it. Lisa

I am on my first and only Smartphone. It is an LG phone from Tracfone and I had limited choices in cases. I mainly wanted a case so I could see it in my purse as the phone was black and would disappear into the lining.

I prefer a separate screen protector and then the rubberised edges or some other similar level of protection is what I look for. Colour/design not so important eg my personal phone cover is just plain black.

Get the rubberized case and the screen protector. Too many phones in our family have been wrecked by simply being knocked off a table, or dropped when exiting a car, etc.
