I have two older Canon Rebels DSLRs - I bought one in early 2007 (and it was the older model then) and the other is a handmedown from my mum which is probably a couple of years older. Pretty sure they are identical though.
Both of them are giving me periodic error 99 messages - changing the battery sometimes helps, changing the lens sometimes helps, turning it off and ignoring it for several weeks sometimes helps, cleaning the lens connections sometimes helps....
Is it worth sending one or both to Canon for servicing (any idea what that might cost?) or is it time to bit the bullet and buy a new camera?
