Watching now!
Jason and Scott are like 2 small kids they hid the axe and machete. Then Scott dumped water on the fire. They are nothing but bullies. As a dad of 2 girls who says he wants to empower his girls he sea like he is nothing but a bully and chauvinistic ass. Scott who isa NBA player has not one iota of sportsmanship. I really dislike the 2 is them and they are sucking in Tai to their way of playing/acting.

That was a train wreck of an episode. Julia is erratic. Debbie is erratic. Jason and Scott are assholes. Even Aubrey is a little erratic.
All I know for sure is that if I were Tai, I'd now be all like....thanks for the extra idol bitches! I wouldn't combine them and I wouldn't share them. I'd use both of them separately and try to win 1 individual immunity. That would get him to the final 5, which at that point you can't use idols any more anyway.

I'm confused about the superidol. It only saves one person, right? Then why would you give up your half? Doesn't make sense to me.

So the idea is that the person who holds the super idol would give it to the person who got the most votes (if that person is in their alliance). I guess they trusted Tai the most. Or they were just being dumbasses.

can't say I'm disappointed she's gone, but that was a really dumb move I think
they would have been better to vote one of the 3 guys & just get rid of the whole super idol. yes I realize it would have mean cydney leaving, but at least then the idol would be gone

That was one crazy ass tribal council. Everyone was chatting back and forth and it was on like donkey kong. Except for Joe. He just seems confused most of the time I will miss Debbie. She had some one line zingers and kept things moving. But she had hopes for Julia and that just wasn't happening in my opinion!! I can't wait to see her Ponderesa tape!

Or maybe use it as a teachable moment to show them what jerks and how disrespectful men can be. It is a game, but to think the women could not survive without the men, was ridiculous.

So the super idol can only be played by one person and only save one person, correct? So only Tai could have been saved because he had both pieces? Could Scott have been saved because he presented it first and then gave it to Tai? I'm confused.

I missed tribal last week where the super idol was talked about. Is it common knowledge it is played AFTER the votes are read? From everyone but the guy's reaction it seemed like they didn't know.

I think only the people that had idols knew about the super idol, because the explanation was wrapped around the idol when it was found. It can be used AFTER the votes are read to save someone - and Tai could use it to save ANYONE he chooses - although if you ask me it's a dumb use of an idol!! why would you use an idol you found to save anyone but yourself???

If you save someone in your alliance, you can turn the numbers in your favor. For example, it's now 4-4. Tai, Scott, Jason and Julia vs. Joe, Cydney, Aubrey and Michelle. Tai saves Scott and then it becomes 4-3 and your alliance runs the game. Of course it's up in the air what Julia would do and if Aubrey can turn Tai away from the Dark Side.

They should have known based on what Tai said at tribal last week but I guess they thought he was mistaken (he said that idols could be combined to form a super idol but someone may have told him the wrong thing). They thought that they could vote out Debbie AND flush out all of the individual hidden immunity idols tonight. They didn't know about the idols combining into a super idol.

Ugh, what an episode. It was disgusting to watch Scott and Jason act like giant turds after last week's vote off. I really, really, REALLY wish that Julie would have joined their team at the reward challenge and then sat on the ground when they were trying to untangle the ropes at the beginning. That would have been AWESOME!. Our family was really hoping that someone would join the guys team and sabotage them. Cowards! They could have just smiled at the guys and said "Hey, it's part of the game." just like they said about their sabotage back at camp. Oh well... My dh has Julie in the pool and I was so disappointed with the choice she made--to play both sides and to tell the guys the other side's secrets (just as Aubrey thought she would and just as clueless Debbie insisted she wouldn't). I feel sorry for Michele, Cydney, and Aubrey, because they were stuck with people who refused to listen to reason and who aren't playing the game smart. I really wish they would have flushed out the idol (something that REALLY needed to be done) but I would have hated to see Cydney go. And although Tai mentioned the super idol at last TC, he didn't say what the specific powers were. Sadly they still don't know. I'm also really disappointed with Tai. It's bad enough that he's with those jerks (I get that sometimes you end up aligning yourself with people you don't really like), but when he dumped the water on the fire, he crossed a line. Now I'd be just as happy to see him go home too. Debbie was a wildcard and I understand Aubrey wanting to get rid of her, but I'm not sure that was the smartest move. All I can say is I really hope something happens to break up the guys or that someone has the balls to make a big move and vote them out. If they make it to the final--any of them--I'll be so disgusted. Okay, here are the links: I've watched the Ponderosa footage but I still need to go back and read Dalton's recap. Enjoy! In the Ponderosa footage, I have to agree with Nick that Debbie is a nice person who means well, but man would she be annoying to have around. I enjoyed her character at first out on the island, but I'm sure if I was actually THERE, it would have gotten old REAL fast!

I would laugh at all her stories, but the lying drives me nuts. She weighed 101 when she was weighed immediately after getting voted out and when she was talking to the guys she said she weighed 96 lbs. after playing. I can't stand that. A legend in her own mind. Ugh.

I agree - I would rather have seen the ladies vote for one of the men, and have them play the super idol to get it out of the game, than send Debbie home. I get that she wasn't thinking rationally but if they spend the rest of the reason living in fear of the super idol it won't be interesting to watch at all. Also, I noticed that early in the episode Debbie had one of those sores on her shoulder, and toward the end there was a big patch/bandage on it. I didn't notice anyone else's sores but am I right in thinking there is still another medical evacuation to come this season?

Debbie was a wildcard and I understand Aubrey wanting to get rid of her, but I'm not sure that was the smartest move I don't see that the main girl alliance had any other choice. They couldn't vote for Julia and if they decided to risk it and vote for Jason, Scott or Tai then there was a really good chance they'd use the idol to save whoever they voted for and therefore the person that the guys wanted to go home would leave instead. They could have tried to call the guy's bluff...but if they played the idol then Cydney would have gone and then the rest of them would have been stuck with Debbie who doesn't listen to anyone and would have just gone on doing her own thing. I really dislike that male trio. I've never liked Tai and his going along with those other two thugs sealed it for me. I really hope none of them make it to the final. if I were Tai, I'd now be all like....thanks for the extra idol bitches! I wouldn't combine them and I wouldn't share them. I'd use both of them separately and try to win 1 individual immunity The trouble with that plan is that Scott and Jason may well be on the jury and they are just the types to hold a grudge and not vote for you at the end. You not only have to get to the end, you have to get there in a way that the jury will still give you their final vote. However I agree that I wouldn't be party to any "super idol plan" I said that last week already, I wouldn't give up my idol to save someone else. I would use it to 'bluff' but come to the crunch, I wouldn't do it.

When Tai put the fire out, he reminded me of the kid that wants to hang with the cool kids so he would do something stupid to get them to "like" him.

I thought Scott was being such a big baby and damn didn't he have to eat too?? Why put out the fire. Even my DH who usually doesn't watch the show said I think Scott should have an unfortunate accident and have to leave.

Ugh, Scot and Jason are just so disgusting. I want to say I can't believe what they did but I actually can believe it.
I have had a crush on Tai since the first episode but after last night I think we are going to have to break up.
I hope they don't live in fear of the super idol and get picked off one by one.
Off to watch Ponderosa.

Last night my dd and I both lost our love for Tai. My dh was trying to defend him. We said nope, the weak guy who goes along with the bully is as bad as the bully. He's almost even worse because he's all sneaky. At least we KNOW who Jason and Scott are. When Tai threw the water on the fire, no one was around; he didn't have to do that.

I just watched-that was one hella crazy episode. Seriously, how many seasons of Survivor have there been and this season is in a whole different league in terms of craziness. I have to say, Aubrey has my respect. She reads people really well and has a great mind for figuring out strategy.
But when they were saying "original plan" I was so nervous because there were "original" plans with different people. I think they made the only logical choice. Debbie will be back another season (likely with a few more jobs on her resume.

I watch Survivor with my son who is 26. We've been watching together since the very first season. He likes Scott and Jason, so it's interesting to hear his perspective on the game play. I thought Scott and Jason were going too far and being very childish by hiding the machete and ax, but DS said that they are on the bottom-the bottom 2 and they've pulled Tai in so that makes the bottom 3. They are scrambling and they can either appeal to the others at this point (who hate them) or they can try things they own way. This is what they are trying. I said, "Yeah, but it's really stupid to make so many people mad at you because that's the jury if they make it that far." He said big moves win respect.
Julia joining them for the reward competition surprised me, but honestly I haven't really seen that much of her so like she said, "it had to be someone." Once she began plotting with both her old alliance and Scott, Jason and Tai I saw that as very risky, while DS saw it as great game play.
I also thought voting Debbie out (one of their own alliance members) as being a hugely stupid move. They didn't really understand the super idol rules (from what we know) and voting Debbie out was a gut reaction by Aubrey because she felt she couldn't get Debbie to listen to her logic (which it turns out what Aubrey thought and was telling Debbie was right). I felt sorry for Debbie getting voted out like that, but she had a great attitude about it (I haven't watched the Ponderosa video yet, just going by last night's show) which I really like seeing. I hate it when players take it all personally and hold a grudge up to and past the time they cast a vote for the final 3. It's a game, they got the better of you, live with it.
The thing is, Scott, Jason, Thai and now Julia (if she decides to stick with this bunch) now have the upper hand. They've got that super idol to pull out when they need it. I still like Thai. I love his character and what he stands for. As far as putting out that fire? Yes, it didn't have to be done. But remember, he is playing a game. And if that is part of his game play than so be it-that's my feeling. It's not like he threw the rice on the fire.
Debbie in MD.

Omg, someone LIKES Scott and Jason? I can'tbelieve that! He's your son so I'm sure he's a wonderful guy, but I'm shocked!
I don't believe that was game play. I believe it was two creepy, nasty men being big babies.
Anyone who hasn't read Dalton's recap, read it. I think he spent two pages going off on those three guys. He expressed everything I felt. Will their asinine antics pay off? I doubt it but it's hard to say. I would be shocked if the jury voted to give any of them the million, if they make it that far.

birukittyIt's not the hiding of the machete and ax or bringing the idols out at tribal that bothered me as much as HOW they did it. They were obnoxious and rude and just plain asses and they could have done whatever they wanted without the rude obnoxious speeches and asshat behavior. If I were in the jury they would not get my vote. These are not 'big' moves these are loud in your face moves. If it's those two and pretty much anyone else in the final 3 my votes going to whomever else I can choose. Heck, their behavior makes Russell look like a pleasant dude, ask him if pissing people off left and right gets you a win. And Russell certainly made game moves. Didn't he make it to the end twice and loose? I just don't think being in your face obnoxious is good game play.
