or combo you ever heard of for food, that you tried and liked.
Mine was that someone told me about peanut butter and tomato on toast. Holy crap I thought that sounded disgusting. She talked me into trying it and it was surprisingly good. Like really good, with salt and pepper on it.
What food combo did you think would be gross but was good?

Well, I didn't think they would be gross, but two things I thought to try were fresh cooked bacon on vanilla ice cream and moscato wine on vanilla ice cream (two different desserts, not all together.) After I loved both and thought I was brilliant, I looked online and discovered that Burger King used to offer a bacon shake and there is a company that makes wine flavored ice cream. I still think I'm brilliant for thinking of it on my own though, haha.

Banana with a slice of American cheese wrapped around it. I haven't had that in ages but it sure does sound good right now!
Burger with peanut butter and bacon, in addition to the normal lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was very good, but terribly messy to eat!

Pickle Dogs. Take a pickle (or a spear if they're big), smear cream cheese on it and wrap it in pastrami, ham or other similar thin sliced lunch meat. Cut into thick rounds, maybe 3/4" wide for an appetizer, or just eat the whole thing. Yum! We only make them for parties because they're a PITA to make. It's also something I always get at the State Fair. DH likes peanut butter, jelly and cheese sandwiches. I think it's disgusting, but he likes it. DD eats ketchup on everything, including steamed broccoli. Even though I'm sure it's I say nothing, because hey--a five year old is eating broccoli! Whatever floats her boat.

Haven't eaten them since I was a teen and have no intention of doing it now but we used to put a dill pickle slice in the middle of a Oreo cookie. Can't believe I even thought that was a good idea let alone actually eat it.

Ketchup on pancakes. not potato pancakes, regular ones, like bisquick.
My sister eats these, at least one with ketchup everything she has pancakes.

The burger with peanut butter and bacon sounds good. because, bacon!!! I don't know about that banana wrapped in cheese. especially if it's single slice cheese. I hate that stuff. I will eat some pretty weird stuff but my brain just won't wrap itself around that combo.

crazy4scraps I made a Pickle Wrap Dip for a work snack potluck once--ham, cream cheese, chopped dill pickles. Everyone gobbled it up! In high school a friend of mine and I used to eat French Onion Sun Chips and peanut butter.

Have you tried spreading the cream cheese on the ham slice (instead of the pickle), placing the pickle on it, and then rolling it up? Seems like a less messy way to accomplish it. Mom used to make these for parties.

I don't think these combinations are weird but DH turns up his nose whenever I eat them. Thankfully, these are not in my usual menu rotation so he doesn't have to sneer too often:
A scoop of cottage cheese on top of baked beans.
Cranberry sauce with fried clams.

In college, my friends and I discovered that peanut butter and jelly mixed with cottage cheese made for a filling, high protein meal. Sounds and looks disgusting but it really was rather tasty. And low-carb.

When I was growing up I used to love sliced summer sausage and peanut butter on toast.

I saw a cooking show once (long time ago) and she was making a grilled ham and cheese sandwich - with strawberry preserves on the sandwich (ham, cheese and preserves all between 2 pieces of bread and cooked liked a grilled cheese). It sounded nasty but something made me try it and it was actually pretty good - kind of like a lazy man's Monte Cristo.
