While agreeing with most of this I have three sisters but only have contact with one and while this has been a time of grief and unhappiness I am okay with the situation now.
I have also also been very blessed with some wonderful chosen sisters, two that have been in my life for 40 plus years and am as close to them as my sibling sister. I am also very close with DH's sister.

Oh, that's lovely. My sister is my very best friend in the whole, wide world. Thank you for the share!

Not all sisters are close, and while I love HER kids, she doesn't care much about mine (but at least her kids love my kids), but she has never pulled a gun at me, so at least there's a silver lining!

I have two sisters. One is a true blessing, the other one is...not so much. I have neighbors that care about me more than she does.

That summed up perfectly how I feel about my sister. Seriously, she is my best friend and my biggest supporter.

I have two sisters and we are not close. Never have been to the oldest one. I was semi close with the other one until she came to live with me 4 years ago. Now she's more of a pain than anything.
DD has always wanted a sister but I told her that doesn't guarantee they will be close. She has DS (and that will be it) and they seem pretty close right now (she's been away at school over the last year so we will see if that changes when she comes home permanently next month).

I have three sisters. I am close to one, get along great with another when I see her (which isn't often) and I one that I have tried to give away repeatedly - no one will take her.

Omg that is hilarious! I have 4 sisters and through the years that pretty much sums up one of my sisters who I also would love to give away LOL. I get along with my oldest sister the best, then the third oldest followed by the fourth but the second oldest is free to anyone

If you want a sister you can have mine. Cannot remember the last time I talked to her. I am glad my two daughters have a fabulous relationship. I think a mother plays a lot in how that relationship grows between daughters. My mother did nothing to support it, only things to pit us against each, creat frition and make us not want to be around each. I worked hard to nurture a relationship between my daughters and still do.

I have a sister that is toxic and I can't stand her. She's not too fond of me either. I haven't spoken with her since the day I walked out of our mother's memorial service. I have never looked back.

My sister is my very best friend. I have 2 daughters and she has daughters, we hope that they will grow up to be close as we are. I'm close with my sister in law and have couple good friends but no one comes even close to my sister.

my sister has bipolar disorder, is 10 yrs younger and we are not close. I act as an advisor...cause she has no friends and not much to do and no money. I wish at times we were close geographically..but then not. I am much closer to my sister in law. I just feel sad when I think of her.

I love my sisters but we are at very different places in our lives. We all have too much going on with our own families. There's not much communicating or doing things together. Also, in my family there are no secrets. You say something in confidence to one person everyone else finds out.

I have one sister and we get along really well. She is very supportive of me and is great with my sons, daughter-in-laws and grandson. However she can be a little bossy but I'm easy going so I just go ahead and let her. I mean heck if she wants to take control of every event and work her butt off who am I to argue .
