It's been an exciting day! Women's caucus saw Wendy Davis, Leticia Van de Putte, Houston mayor Annise Parker. So exciting! And during our district caucus I won the election for SDEC rep for SD 31. That's the executive committee for our party and I beat two veteran party women from Ector County. Our delegation staged a coup at the last minute and swept the office away from the old guard. I'm excited and honored and nervous but I am really fucking stoked about being in a position to shape the future of the Texas Democratic Party. LBJ BreakFast is tomorrow. I am ready to get my drink on tonight.

I would really like to get involved with the Democratic Party in Texas. I almost went to the anniversary of the filibuster a couple nights ago, but then something came up. Sadly, I don't think Wendy Davis will win this election... But I do think things are looking up for Democrats in Texas.

It will take a lot of work and we need every single supporter out there. If you really do want to get involved, let me know. Can we PM on this board? Let me know what county you're in and your email and I'll get you in touch with the right folks. There is a lot you can do.

Congratulations! I know the Democratic party in Texas has a big up hill battle. Almost as big as Oklahoma.

It's an uphill battle, but it isn't impossible unless people take defeatist attitudes and sit at home on election day. I'm ready to turn this state blue - or at least purple. The good ole Boys have had it for too long and have worked against women's interests for too long. I'm glad I "know" somebody who's in the thick of it. Good for you, compwalla.
