I was meeting another parent from ds' soccer team for carpool so I was waiting in the parking lot of a local gas station/convenience store/bait shop. It was about 5:55 and the store doesn't open until 6:00. A Jeep turned in, hauling a fishing boat, and pulled up and stopped in the front of the store. The driver must have been irritated that it wasn't open yet because he slammed on the gas, turned left to go between a set of gas pumps and then made another really sharp left turn and you guessed it, the boat smashed into one of the pumps. At least we didn't blow up. When I left, the men in the Jeep were still all assembled trying to assess the damage to the boat. Guess they are not going to be first ones out on the river for the first day of trout season.

That must have been quite a show to watch. Glad there was not an explosion .

Glad nothing exploded! Did it damage the gas tank at all? I hope the security cameras caught the action.
Also, I find it funny that it's the first day of trout season (DH loves to fish), but here I sit in CO with a snowstorm raging outside.

I bet he's peed off with himself! Maybe, Maybe not. Somehow I think a human, who would stomp on the gas due to a little 5 min wait, will find someone/something/anything else to blame that on. Couldn't possibly be their fault! Poor gas station owner, great way to start his/her day

I learned when I was really young not to throw tantrums. It never ends well.

I bet if you weren't there, he would have taken off--if he could leave with the boat--did it knock the boat off?
My mom once drove off with the hose still attached to the car. Good thing my dad's friend owned the gas station. She liked full service after that. The owner was there, and he's a flirt, and he got her all flummoxed.

And a narrow escape. I do work for oil companies and know how dangerous gas stations can be.
