Good morning ladies!! We have a weekend filled with soccer so I won't be around much. Outdoor soccer has begun and there's playoffs for indoor tomorrow. Wish my girls luck as they've had an undefeated season (14-0) so we're hoping that will carry over into the playoffs!! Holding steady with eating and exercise and feeling great! No exercise today or tomorrow with all the soccer. But I'll be back at it Monday morning!! Have a great weekend girls!!

Morning!!
I have my first wedding cake of the season today - so I'm off to get it finished.
But the scale was very kind this morning - I'm 1.5 lbs away from my next mini goal! Tomorrow is official weigh in day, so I'll count whatever it says tomorrow in MFP. But I'm pleased with the direction it is finally moving. I know I'm at fault for it going up instead of down, but it is nice to see it moving down.
Have a great day everybody!!

Brandy, have fun at soccer. Sounds like the busy season is starting. Kellie, glad you are close to your next goal. Awesome! I ate horrible on Thursday as DD and I were gone ALL day. She had a doctor's appointment, then cardio rehab, and then spur of the moment, we went to Biltmore House for lunch and to see the wedding dresses on display in the house. We had a great time but I ate bad. Hopefully I won't pay for it too much on Monday. I have had a couple of bad days this week. One of the girls came home from college for the weekend. Her and hubby just went to Charlotte to get her some things for her research study as her grant was just awarded. The other DD stayed on campus as her boyfriend is part of a wedding party. So, the two of them are going to the wedding today. So, it's just two of us again for the day like usual. Not sure what's for dinner. Hubby will be home then, and I am sure he will grill something. Enjoy the day everyone!

Have fun at the soccer game, Brandy.
Overall I have not been having a good eating week, at all. I have had a good workout week so maybe the damage done won't be quite so bad. I've decided I won't be looking at the scale until Sunday morning so as not to get super discouraged. Today I'm going horseback riding which is always a brings a decent loss for me (usually 1/2 pound is gone the next day) so I'm going to go and enjoy myself outside and we'll see what happens tomorrow morning!

Good (late) morning!
BBM week three is done and I walked/ran 5000 steps on the treadmill. I had zero junk all week and then yesterday...ugh. I guess I needed to remind myself how bad I feel when I don't eat healthy food. Had a whopper Jr. and value fries with a cookie for lunch and then was soooo tired when driving. Later I had a hot dog from a gas station (which is rare) because I was starving at 4:00. I was totally not prepared with food yesterday. I worked late and then ran some errands and came home at 9:00. Had a small bowl of cereal and went to bed.
Birthday party today and I am determined not to overdo it. We are going to eat lunch and then head there so I will have a some eggs, spinach and mushrooms on a low carb tortilla. Will try not to eat much there.
I asked for lunch ideas yesterday but forgot to add my own. Now that it is warmer we have been grilling extra salmon and/or chicken on Sunday's to have for the week. I usually have that with a salad for lunch. I also like to make extra taco meat and have that as a salad. I recently started having tuna with cucumbers on two wasa high fiber crackers. Sometimes Greek yogurt. If I am near a microwave and we have leftovers I will have that as well.

Happy Saturday everyone! Sounds like everyone's having a nice weekend so far. Went to my weekly weigh-in and am down 1 pound. So I lost my gain from last week and a bit more. I'm good with that. I'm inching up on my 5% lost and I'm hoping it'll happen after my next weigh-in. I'll be in Quebec City with 90 students starting Tuesday evening and returning Sunday morning. I've already got snacks planned for the trip there and back. I won't be able to weigh-in until the following Saturday. Hopefully I'll get there for then! Have a great weekend--I'm heading to my boys' first baseball game of the season! It should be fun!

Hey! Photo shoot #1 this morning was fabulous! Home to refuel and gear up for a wedding tonight. Praying the weather holds out. Super windy but no rain (yet).
Not hungry at all but made myself eat a small lunch, since I know I won't eat much during the wedding.
Have a great Saturday!

Hello ladies. I am taking a rest day. My body is just toast right now. I need this.
My DS has a baseball game today. Opening day. Can't wait. It is beautiful out today. 80 degrees. Love it!
Dd starts her very first job this evening. She is so nervous. It is at a local family owned cafeteria. We are not 100% sure if she is "waitressing" or working the serving line. I will find it when she gets home. This is going to be so good for her.
And with that, I am officially old. Lol!

Happy Saturday!
It's been a busy busy day -yard, laundry, grocery story, DS hair cut, tux fitting for the Quincera he is in 3 weeks, restoring my computer since it crashed a few days ago. And I got a 2 mile run squeezed in. I'm exhausted!
Tomorrow we are heading to Yosemite to hike Mist Falls. It's a 7 mile hike to the top but we will probably only do the first 3 miles. The falls are full right now so it's going to be a great hike!

I am exhausted- think I overdid it in the gym since this cortisone injection. I am taking tomorrow off. Food has been good- I just need a day of rest. But I hate to be still! I need to go to Hancock Fabrics and see if thread is on sale. I hate that they're going out of business.

Whew - I am beat!! No sleeping in this morning because of soccer so we were awake at 6 and up at 6:30. The girls lost their first game of the season 3-0. One dd was pissed and the other blamed herself (she's goalie). It was a very unpleasant ride to Sports Authority from the game...they needed new mouth guards so we stopped after the game. The game started at 11 and so by the time we hit the store and came home, it was after 2. I was STARVING thinking that I could make it until we got home. I ended up getting a refresher at Starbucks for 190 calories. :/
I needed to get food prep done so I worked on that while dh and the girls ran to the store for me. By the time they got back, I had most of my food prep done. It was only 3:30 or so so I talked dh into going for a walk with me. I had planned on NO workouts at all this weekend so I was excited to get in a short one. Something short is better than nothing!! So we got in 25 mins and I burned around 200 calories. The dinner was brined pork chops, salad and mini corn on the cobs (frozen). In addition to the refresher, when I got home I had a serving of pretzels, turkey pepperoni and a lite babybel.
The weather was BEAUTIFUL here today!! 60 with lots of sun and some wind. Even though I had sunscreen on, I think my lips got a little sunburned. But the sun was SOOOO nice!!!
You gals are doing awesome!! Keep it up!!!

I just bought the most amazing salad, enough for both my husband and I, for less than 10 dollars. Chicken Cesar salad. OMG so filling, I think that I won't even have a snack tonight!

I didn't do well at all with my workouts this week. I used to have a workout partner who picked me up every morning and I really need that motivation. It's in the 70's here this weekend, so I started weeding my garden. Tomorrow, I'm planting arugula, spinach and lettuce. On top of that I took the dog for a long walk. She needs to drop a few pounds too This week I am attending a training outside of the office for 2 days. I usually prep my lunches for the week on Sunday, but since I will be eating out for those 2 days, I'm just going to grill some veggies to bring either over salad or on some brown rice for the 2 days I am in the office. Hope that despite my lack of work outs, my healthy eating results in another loss on the scale!

I hope I have more motivation to clean tomorrow than I did today. We were gone most of the day at the party and we just went for a quick walk. At the party I had a piece of pizza and a little ice cream as well as some pasta. The party was for the son of some friends of ours. I say that loosely. DH and the husband have been friends for a long time and he is a good guy. His wife....not so much. Her mom is Italian (from Italy) and they are both different. The mom always makes food and wants everyone to "eat, eat" and makes a big deal out of it. So I had some noodles and tried to make it look like I was eating more than I was. Later, when we had cake and people were talking about how good it was (a friend made it) and someone asked if the cake was homemade. The mom said, "I know this cake and it is from a box" and repeated that several times. Ugh. The wife does similar types of things all the time so now I know where she gets it.

Where did you get it? And what was in it? I love finding new salads to try! Got it at the corner deli place. It had romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken, shaved pecorina, and croutons. I know the croutons are a no no but this is my only cheat. I have lost 5 pounds. ❤

Good morning everyone. I slept nearly 12 hours last night! My week was rough in terms of sleep, so I am glad I could catch up. I went by the WW center on my way home from the airport yesterday morning and weigh in. Good loss this week, which I expected since I started my period - I retain water/don't lose much for 2 weeks prior to starting, and then seem to get a good loss once I start. Adjuster is supposed to come out today to assess our damage from Monday's hail storm. However, it is raining/lightning and really nasty here, and supposed to be for the next few days, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed a week. It smells kind of like a wet dog in my house right now since the rain started. Hoping that is just because of the broken windows (boarded up, but there is still a gap to the outside we have covered with plastic that's blowing around), not a leak in the attic and wet insulation... ugh. Our contractor checked it and said it wouldn't leak, but you never know. Water is insidious. SPEAKING OF DOGS... Friday night was rent a puppy night! We actually rented 2. They were little shits that fought a bunch, LOL! We had a great time, and we were also ready for them to leave after an hour and a half. The white one looked like some sort of lab mix and is around 3.5 months, should be adopted out soon. She was pure muscle and super heavy. The little one is some sort of heeler/shepherd mix and was soooo tiny and cute. His name was Tank, around 8.5 weeks old. Would definitely do it again and totally recommend it as a fun activity if you're ever in Salt Lake City. My suggestion is to ask for the smallest puppy they have and have some toys - I found it odd they didn't bring a bag of toys to play with. It would have been more fun if we had a little ball for the puppies to chase. Even some rolled up old socks would have been fine, apparently my friend didn't have any of those though!

brandy327 Sounds like a super busy weekend! It definitely is tricky figuring out the balance between what to pack with you when you're going to be gone from home awhile and being able to find stuff on the fly that you're happy with. It sounds like you're doing really well. cakediva Wedding cake season - Ahhhh! I can't imagine the stress of making, transporting, and setting up wedding cakes. I know there was a near-miss with mine (that thankfully I didn't hear about until afterwards). My cake lady said she wouldn't give guarantees on cakes at outdoor weddings, too many variables. Congrats on your great scale progress, hope the loss held out for you for weigh in today! Patter You're another one that stays super busy on the run!! I'm glad you were able to get some fun in there with the Biltmore, that sounds neat. chaosisapony Hope you had a good time horseback riding - that is interesting that you usually see a loss directly after riding! I guess all the muscles you use while riding really create a burn. Hang in there on the food, this too shall pass. iamkristinl16 I always admire how dedicated you are with working out! That is not a strong point for me, so it's interesting to read about your fitness activities. That gal with the cake comments sounds rude, whatever - that's on her! missfrenchjessica Congrats on your loss. Are you doing Weight Watchers too? Just wondering because you mentioned 5%. I love those stupid charms, even though they are just trinkets, something about hearing them clank together is enjoyable to me! Keeps me motivated to get my next one. littlefish Sounds like you're getting into a busy season too, if you shoot weddings!! I appreciate your input on these threads, you're another one whose workouts I find interesting to read about. I need to work on my mindset to be able to see myself as someone who enjoys and is good at exercise. TankTop How did your daughter's first day at work go? That is exciting! Hope your day was indeed restful, it's important for the body (and mind) to have time to rebuild. needmysanity That is so cool you can go to Yosemite for a day to hike!! I love Dallas, but really not any great outdoor areas here. I'm not outdoorsy generally, so that's okay with me, but North Texas definitely isn't the most scenic area of the country. alexa11 Sounds like a rest day is definitely called for. Hope you get some good thread finds, but that does stink to lose a store that you enjoy. I was in Michael's the other day and was wondering how they were still in business, the store was just so poor compared to Hobby Lobby. But it was a Sunday, so... I guess that's how! Make all their money when Hobby Lobby is closed, haha. @nycmom Congrats on the 5 lbs! I don't think croutons are necessarily a no, when they're part of a big healthy salad. If we live in a world where croutons are a cheat, I'm not sure I want to live in this world. Haha! fkawitchypea I find having a partner (especially for walks outside) helpful too. There's a gal I walk with in my neighborhood, but she is unpredictable. There's another gal in my neighborhood, she's a photographer and going to do some photos for me, and she mentioned she is working on losing weight too. I might see if she wants to walk sometime. If I get 2 or 3 people nearby that like to walk, I bet most nice days there will be someone who can go out. The sidewalks are just barely wide enough for 2, but we live in a low traffic neighborhood and if a group wanted to walk, we could walk in the street. Keep up the good healthy eating! For me, food choices are what really move the scale, not exercise (although I want to be better at exercise just for overall health).

And... adjuster called and we're looking at next weekend now. Which frankly is fine with me, it's not safe to be out in the weather the way it is, I want to make sure he isn't rushed, and gives me a little more time to prepare.

AN, yes, busy and on the run because of all of DD's health issues. Thankfully I do not have to work. I taught childbirth for years and years. But, when we moved here almost 4 years ago, I did not pursue anything. Now I know why. I hope they find happy, loving homes. Love the photos! I know my Papillons are easy, easy dogs but the Rough Collie pups are a lot of work daily but so worth it. They are amazing but definitely not an easy dog. The breed definitely has something to do with the ease of care but they ALL need training.

AN Well- Hancock was a wash- only 20% off thread. I can go to HL with a 40% coupon. And they are not accepting coupons anymore- even though they keep mailing them out. HL is so much better than just about any store that we have.

missfrenchjessica Congrats on your loss. Are you doing Weight Watchers too? Just wondering because you mentioned 5%. I love those stupid charms, even though they are just trinkets, something about hearing them clank together is enjoyable to me! Keeps me motivated to get my next one. I'm really happy with my loss this week--the past couple of weeks have been harder than usual, but I feel like I'm getting back on track. I AM doing Weight Watchers. I LOVE those stupid charms! LOL! I want to earn every single one there is! LOL! Today's been odd--went to see a colleague who just had a baby. He's SO tiny but adorable! Ate at 8:30 this morning and am just getting "lunch". Yikes! Not normal for me. I'm surprised I'm still upright. Having spaghetti squash with eggs and parmesan cheese on top. It's not bad, but would have been better had I cooked the squash a little longer. Live and learn! The weather is finally beautiful here. I'm hoping I can get my Sunday prep done quickly so I can get out for a walk---it's a bit iffy as I need to get that done, pack and plan lessons for when I'm out Wednesday-Friday.

AN how cute! You'd think they'd pack the puppy version of a diaper bag or something. Toys and treats and stuff. I do a little photography on the side. Both shoots yesterday were set up because of people I know through CrossFit. Today I did some squats and plyo work--I had to jump down off a box and go directly into a broad jump. My jumping skills need some work, lol! The purpose is to work on explosiveness. Did a bunch of meal prep and got DD involved in a lot--she chopped celery, washed grapes, peeled hard boiled eggs...she's a picky eater but the more I get her involved the more she's been willing to try new things. We're out of garlic so I asked her to add it to our grocery list. I went to add something else later and realized she had written "garlic--gives you garlic breath!!" Ha! missfrenchjessica your squash combination sounds yummy!

littlefish It was pretty good--I just wish I'd baked the squash a bit longer...it was more al dente than I like I like runny eggs over rice, so I tried it over the squash as a substitute.
