I guess if a friend came up with the first name I would like it okay. It's just that it's Rachel and she annoys me. So everything she says and does is stupid. The baby is sweet though and I wish them well.

Sweet baby. Wishing them well but I really hate the name. To each his own.

The name on its own...meh. Then they add the middle name and that poor child will have a lifetime of asking why she wasn't named Aurora.
ETA: I have never heard of these people before this thread. It is just the name that is not my favorite.

I would like the first name if the middle name was different. The whole thing is just too similar to Aurora Borealis.
The biggest shock to me is that he is only 35 and she is only 30. What??? I thought they were about 40 by now.

I could not stand her on Amazing Race. She made me want to throw things at the tv.

Adora as a stand alone name....ADORABLE! That middle name? Makes me think the parents never matured past 12.

I'm not fond of naming your child something that is so obviously contrived, kwim? I have nothing against the name Adora at all. It's combining it with Borealis as an obvious play on Aurora Borealis that I personally do not like. I'd actually prefer if the baby was just named Aurora Borealis than this combo. But hey, not my baby and all. And maybe the baby will grow up to love it.

It is just the name that is not my favorite. I think it's going to be annoying. No, It's Adora like I adore you, not Aurora. Lather, rinse, repeat, ad nauseum. I know, I have to spell my name-first and last--all the time. Then I get--I know a boy, named Micah, you're the first girl. Then most people still write it Micha. My dh kept spelling it that way, although he was classy enough to correct it before I saw it. My family doesn't call me Micah. I hate it--I like the fact that it means who is like the Lord because of the way God sent me to my forever family, but it's so annoying. And I don't like that it sounds so harsh--the harsh gutteral sound. I hope we get to move to Belgium--dh's ancestor was the first prime minister and like their George Washington, that would make my life super easy.

I love the name Adora, but the middle name? Not so much. Too cutesy. Add me to list of not knowing who they were before this thread.

The name perfectly fits what those two would come up with. I actually like the first name, but the middle gets a thumbs down from me. But they will never know what I think

No surprise from those two twits That kid is going to love explaining her name for her entire life ... that it isn't the Northern Lights

Adora is cute. But if the kids at school are mean; and they know her middle name, she might get called, Adora Bora or some other mean versions.
When I was naming mine, I actually thought about how my kids could be picked on in school.

When I was naming mine, I actually thought about how my kids could be picked on in school. I also thought hard about how the name we hang on our kid might affect her as an adult, so we intentionally chose a not hugely popular right now 'classic' name with a diminutive we could use while she's young as a nickname. I also wanted to choose something she won't have to constantly tell people how to say or spell. I grew up with a last name that everybody butchered, and it gets really, really old. We were also careful that her initials wouldn't unintentionally spell something.

The baby is sweet though and I wish them well. I do like Adora and think Borealis is too contrived as a middle name. Given most kids don't know each other's middle names, I don't see it as that big of a deal unless the parents insist on using both. Rachel's narcissistic personality does make me want to hate it though. I'm picturing a future where other kids slip into calling her "Dora" and Rachel goes ballistic correcting them. The family photo is great and I was pleasantly surprised to see no one wearing green sequins .

I dig it.
They could have a whole brood with astronomy and meteorology names! Vernon Equinox. Sam Solstice. Mikey Way. Southern Chris. Orion Belt.

I have no clue who these people are. As for the name, wouldn't be my choice, but it's not my baby. I hope she has a long and happy life.
