What kind of ribs did you use. The recipe looks interesting. How did they turn out? Love your profile pick of your Westie. I bought baby backs and then I had the butcher cut them in half. Waiting for the sauce to reduce right now, but I'll let you know how they are. Thanks! Thats my sweety boy Pippy. Can't wait to hear! Westies are the best! DH broiled pork chops and then drizzled balsamic glaze over them, and he very seriously modified a Pioneer Woman potato recipe. He doesn't like to follow recipes, and he doesn't like learning about proper cooking techniques, so he improvises stuff. Things can be pretty uneven. The seriously altered potato recipe wasn't a total disaster. He boiled some potatoes, and then he smashed them. Then he sauteed some diced onions and huge slices of green peppers and put them in a baking dish. Then he poured beef gravy over them and baked them. When he removed them from the oven, he added large-diced green onions for a garnish.
I told him next time, maybe the dice the green peppers. I didn't say anything about the lack of salt, because, c'mon, I can always add salt.
Nothing for dessert, but I am craving carrot cake because of another thread tonight. Dang it.

I had a Groupon, which I used at lunch. Sometimes, it seems like you pay a lot for the Groupon and then pay a lot more when you actually use it. This Goupon is about 60 percent off, so it is not like that. The three of us each had burgers at a custom create-your-own place. Mine was lamb, quite tasty, but I will stick to lamb in my gyros from now on. We each had sides - fries, sweet potato fries and salad. And the boys split a shake. I paid $5 extra, which went toward the tip. The kids' dad was with us and paid his own way, which took care of the rest of the bill. If the kids want to eat tonight, they have a choice of grilled cheese, peanut butter or cereal. Mom still has a bit of work to do but not in the kitchen! Lisa

After the 2 hr cook time and another additional hour, my sauce still hadn't thickened like recipe said. The sauce was almost gone when I finally gave up on it getting thick. Since they had cooked so long all the meat was falling off the bones, so no ribs! The flavor was good, I just had no thick sauce and no bone on ribs.

Dinner prep was interrupted tonight when the dear dog decided to help DD water the potted plants and somehow ended up with enough wet bird droppings and muck on her that she needed a quick bath. In the end, grilled sausages, corn, onion were served with an Asian slaw.

KelleeM , I'm so to hear that you have an icky spring cold. I wish I could bring you chicken soup and a matzoh ball to make you feel better. I made Tuscan bean Stew w/Fresh French bread from the supermarket. It is always a hit here w/everyone and that's a huge deal. I actually have meals have planned this week and other than a to-be-scheduled procedure my plan might go well.

We had dinner at MIL’s and we had a lovely traditional Sunday roast: Roast lamb Roast pork with crackling Roasted potatoes, parsnip, carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, garlic, onion, brussel sprouts, green beans, corn on the cob - so many vegies YUM!! Gravy Mint jelly for the lamb Apple sauce for the pork And off course, being my MIL, there were plenty of leftovers, so guess what I'm having for lunch?
