I bought it when QVC had them as the deal of the day. It's still sitting in the brown card board box it shipped in because I can't decide if I want to keep it.
Aside from "frying" what types of things do you find it useful for?

We don't have one from QVC, but bought one to "air fry" our turkey 2 Thanksgivings ago.
It is the best...no grease, hardly any mess. Browns the turkey perfectly. Love, Love, Love it.

bumping this just in case Elaine didn't see it. I think Elaine is going to be offline for a few days. Have you tried using the search feature? She has been posting lots of great information about the air fryer as well as great recipes and links to cookbooks. I've been interested, but haven't ordered one quite yet!

I ordered one from Amazon yesterday. We can learn together. I do remember awhile back Elaine said she made roasted potatoes. I'm thinking similar to the ones cubes and tossed with Lipton onion soup mix. IIRC they were perfect - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And not sticking to the pan like mine usually do.

This looks like a beautiful air fried fish. I have a piece of mahi mahi that is surely freezer burned by now. If not I'm going to try. budgetpantry.com/airfried-cajun-salmon/#more-6623I also want to try fried wontons/fake crab Rangoon (I'm allergic to shellfish). Google says it makes a great grilled cheese. Breakfast sandwich! Bacon egg and cheese. Put the egg in a ramekin or custard cup and put the raw bacon and biscuit alongside. Google breakfast sandwich air fryer.

Aside from "frying" what types of things do you find it useful for? Open it, try it, and if you don't like it, return it. As long as you are in the 30 days, QVC is quite generous with returns. Used is fine!

Hi Lauren! I'm leaving for Michigan in a couple of hours for more eye surgery, so I missed this last night - sorry! Too much to do before getting on the plane.
I think that if the air fryer is just for you and your DH mostly, it will be great! My only complaint about it is that it is too small for cooking entrees for my family - I need to cook 6 pork chops at a time, for example, for my family that has two teen-aged boys. It will cook 4 comfortably if you use the metal wire shelf and have 2 layers going at once, but you can't do 6.
I have cooked breaded chicken breasts - my DH loves them coated with corn flake crumbs - and pork chops (coated with a layer of seasoned low-fat mayo and then breaded with seasoned Panko) - and they both came out excellent. Just that I also had to cook more in the oven at the same time.
Where the Air Fryer has been awesome for our family is roasting veggies and making fresh fries. I have diced potatoes, tossed with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, rosemary and salt and roasted them - they were amazing. Crunchy and brown on the outside and soft inside. I've also bought bags of the mixed broccoli and cauliflower florets, tossed with 1 tablespoon of oil and whatever seasoning I'm in the mood for - Italian spices, lemon pepper, even curry - and roast those. My family loves veggies cooked this way. And, well, fresh fries from potatoes are wonderful too.
I do use it to bake bags of frozen sweet potato fries. We love the frozen Alexa sweet potato fries and they come out perfectly. I also used it for frozen TJs zucchini fries - also since those were breaded, I'm sure they weren't altogether healthy.
I think whether you'll like it depends on how you like your foods - my kids will eat any veggie as long as it is roasted, so it is good for us and will really be appreciated when the weather turns hot and I hate using the big oven that heats up the house. We won't use it much for main courses, but I would if I were cooking for 2. When the larger air fryers come down in price, I'll consider buying one.
There have been a number of posts lately about air frying here lately on various threads - I think that most people really like them. My guess is that yours needs to be sent back soon if you are returning it - it was the TSV around 3/15 - so, I think that you have nothing to lose, unless it is due back today, by opening it and trying it. QVC will take it back within 30 days, even if you use it, if you aren't happy with it.

If you get it out and use it, I am betting that you will love it. I got mine from BB because I didn't want to have to wait for it to be delivered. Since that first day, I have used mine every single day. Found myself wanting to cook more than it would hold one day and decided to order a big one to go with the one I have. It will be here next week. Evine had a good deal on the 5.8 qt. fryer last week and I jumped on it. Now I will have two and I don't regret it one bit. You can find a lot of recipes on Pinterest and in the Facebook groups.

So tempted to order the QVC one. Especially going in to Summer when I hate having to turn my oven on.

Thanks Elaine and everyone else who responded. It will be used for just my dh and myself as a rule.
Jenjie, I'd love to learn together. And I'm off to check out Pintrest and Facebook.
